You know, I don't think any one was trying to personally offend you in discussing their drink preferences. If you're being serious, and this truly upsets you, then why don't you respectfully try to educate people about tea instead of making an abrasive post? Everyone's opinions, ideas, etc, are welcome here, and I think it crucial that everyone be considerate in their posts. I welcome hearing your thoughts on this.

I have a cup of organic 365 black tea every morning, with a splash of coconut creamer and a spoonful of truvia. That is all, I don't get down with tons of fancy teas. Although, the hubbie did get roped into buying a bag of chai from Teavanna once. I was peeved, that shiitake is way too damn expensive and taste nothing like it does in the store.

Yeah! I can never get my tea to taste the same as their store samplers either! Whats up with this?

Now that I've had 37 seconds to calm down about it, I think you're right. Everyone should be allowed to drink whatever kind of bullshiitake they want to. I see that now, and that's why I'm punching myself in the cork until I pee blood. Opinions are like crassholes: they are all beautiful snowflakes to be cherished.

*Sigh* Of course, I will like you back. As long as you are punching though, I doubt you'll get far if you are aiming that low, try lower back instead?

Teavanna is a rip off! They must put unicorn dust in their samples or something.

I think you and I might enjoy a cup of tea together one day, and doesn't that seem nice? I like soy milk (but no sugar!) in my tea, how about you? I will bring the shortbread, and also I will be crying the whole time.

Teavana blends most of the in-store samples with another tea (both teas will be listed) and I'm pretty sure they pre-sweeten it.

Oh hell, why not? I'll bring the tissues, we can cry into our teas, or wanna-be teas, together.

They must! Cause he bought the same exact blend that he sampled. Basically said to the girl "I want whatever this is" cause he doesn't know crepe about buying tea. And when I made it he was all, what the hell this doesn't taste anything like what I had. So we went back and I taste tested it and he was right, our 25 dollar bag tasted like asparagus compared to the sample in the store.

With the blends, especially, you really have to pay attention to measurements, steeping times and stuff like that. Was it pre-blended or did she give him both teas in a different bag?

My nephew is a tea conneiseur (sp?) and he made me some delicious freshly brewed teas at Christmas. I have my dry dusty boxes at home still. I can appreciate the difference, but whatevs. I'm too lazy for more new hobbies. I'm all hobbied out.

Celestial Seasoning's Mandarin Orange Spice cold is still my fave ice tea! (at home, usually the only way I drink it).

I need to know how to do that.

Do not meddle in the affairs of tea wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger.

They mixed it for us and I followed the directions on the bag. It wasn't as sweet, flavorful, full bodied as the sample was. There sample is like WHOA in your mouth. Mine was like BORING in your mouth.

And seriously if something is that freaking complicated to drink then I'm over it before it even began.

They put chemicals in it to make you crave it fortnightly.

I worked for a short time in a tea store. People would buy teas we had for samples and then come back and say it didn't taste as good as ours. We used filtered water, measured the tea very carefully, timed the brewing exactly and added sugar. It wasn't a huge production but it does make a big difference in the result. Especially the sugar :-)

I find a big difference in using water from the tap versus charcoal filtered (Brita-like) water, i.e. the filtered water tastes much better and our tap water is pretty good here.

I love you Mumbles. PG Tips is the most wonderful tea. I didn't even like real tea until I had some of that. I still like my rooibos chai and ginger mint herbal stuff, but nothing is quite like some Tips with soymilk.

I always want to buy tea, but I have so much that I'm trying to drink through what I have. Right now I have chai (Stash black chai, and Organic India black tulsi chai), GoodEarth's "Super Green Tea" (green tea with matcha, sencha, and orange. . . this stuff is amazing), Twinings Irish Breakfast, Bigelow Earl Grey, and Bigelow "Cinnamon Stick."

I also have quite a bit of decaf stuff: Celestial Seasonings decaf chai and "Candy Cane Lane," Zhena Pumpkin Spice rooibos, and some echinacea and Throat Coat for when the inevitable winter sickness comes around.

I have some really good loose-leaf blends, but I hardly ever drink loose-leaf, just because tea bags are so much easier.

I read this to my (tea loving) partner who said "Whoever this person is, I love them!"

AAAAH! That sounds like I need it in my life.
