Thanks 'fulish! Malka was my grandmother's real name (she used Mollie as an English name), it means queen, and Freyda is a Yiddish name that means joy. We didn't realize how hard it would be for people to say Malka, though, it doesn't seem hard to us. I feel a little bad giving a kid a hard name since I have a hard name.

Sure a few people will have a hard time with it, but at the end, she has a meaningful and beautiful name. I think Freyde also sounds a lot like Friede or peace, which is lovely too. I have an easy name IRL, and people still get it wrong. I lived in Germany for years and my name was pronounced as two words that mean Revenge and Horror all the time.

Edit: *oh wait....it's different in the US. In the Netherlands its D/M/Y, so if she would have been born the day before it would be 9/10/11.
