bagels on the square has a ton of options for vegan cream cheese and really good bagels, too! but I think you'll find that many bagel places you happen into have at least a plain tofu cream cheese option.

I used to work near here and would get a tofu cc bagel on a daily basis......such good bagels too.

Wasn't it revealed in another NY bagel thread that Bagels on the Square uses egg in their bagels? I could've sworn a couple people had asked employees about it. I would LOVE it if it weren't true, so... tell me I'm wrong?

I did a thread search but nothing turned up. I think a couple different PPKers had gone in, asked, and validated its truth. I want it to NOT be true so badly, though. Please go and tell me I'm wrong!

I would be thrilled if this weren't true.

I would never even think to ask this, shiitake. I thought bagels are vegan, except the obvious, egg bagel. And maybe the store bought kind because milk solids are in every industrial food product. But NY bagels, what the fizzle?

i asked them a few years ago and yeah - they told me ALL of their bagels had egg in them. not sure if they actually do or if they're just trying to protect themselves from egg allergies. anyway, if I'm around i sometimes just get some of their tomato basil tofu cream cheese to put on my local shops bagels.
