Reading Catfish's post made me realize it's been a while since we all got together. While potlucks and dinners out are fun, I feel like they're harder to arrange and to schedule. (But I do want to have another potluck sometime soon! That was fun.)

So how do you all feel about going out for drinks within the next couple weeks? It seems like getting together for drinks takes less time and planning.

I'll set up a doodle if there's enough interest. Also, any suggestions for good bars/pubs that are reasonably central and spacious?

I'm interested! Don't have good ideas though, sorry. I mentioned Bella Luna before, but I know most people think JP is the end of the universe, so I'm not offended if that gets shot down pretty quickly. Maybe somewhere in the Back Bay? Where would be central for everyone?

I'd be down too, maybe some place like Lower Depths or the Other Side would be good, where we can get drinks and snacks.

Ooh! Other Side! I don't know where Lower Depths is, I'm going to look it up. I like The Other Side though--so happy they didn't close!

I don't drink so I vote for any location that has good snacks.

Yeah, that would be a plus! I'm in Cambridge so I was thinking the Middle East, but, like the Otherside, it can be touch-and-go for space if we're just standing around? (I'm worried that we wouldn't get a table if a place was too busy.)

I've never been to the Lower Depths, but Quarantined made it sounds like it's pretty vegan-friendly!

Oh yeah, Middle East would be pretty good. i don't think it's too bad for standing around. Lower Depths is pretty good but like I said, I thought it was a bit pricey.

Central Square is pretty OK to get to. I haven't been to the Middle East in many, many years. There's pie nearby there though...

I am totally interested, but it'd have to be pretty soon, since, you know, bars and newborns don't mesh well.

Voiceofraisin and I are both in town on Wednesdays this semester, so a mid-week evening can work for us (post 5:30-ish). I'm at Tufts and he's at BC, so Middle East vs. Other Side is pretty much a "six of one, half a dozen of the other" proposition for us.

I'm into it. Any of those places sounds great. I've never been to Lower Depths but it looks cool!

I'm free Wednesday nights and Fridays and saturdays, too, with enough of a heads up!

YEssss! I love this idea. I think Otherside would be fun, but I'm into central square too. Either one is fine. I can do most days with enough notice. :)

I'd prefer a Saturday, somewhere central square-ish!

I live in Cambridge but don't really have a problem going into Boston. Any night but Tues and Thurs I'm available but certain nights I'd have to check on because I have some stuff coming up.
