As an avowed fan of deep-fried EVERYTHING as well as VHH's entire modus operandi, I heartily applaud this amazing slice of genius. I never thought that using egg replacer would make the batter fluff up so nicely, but now I have to try! So I'm going to make this soon. This week-type soon. Maybe a vegan soul food MoFo post is in order.

Also this, from the recipe blog post?

Dear VHH,

Please open a bar with a vegan happy hour somewhere in the world. I will move there immediately and spend every cent I can find on your deep fried deliciousness.

Sincerely,
laura8it

So basically, I'm going to make this instead of BBQ Tofu this week instead.

And I'm going to make taters and gravy and some slaw and some biscuits and a big ol' jug of sweet tea.

...The Vegan Colonel has performed an Inception upon me.

Yeah, I have this personal rule not to deep fry my friends, either.
