Mmmm.... Although not 100% of the way to what I expect from naan, I'm getting closer! Vegan Naan by Amarand Agasi, on Flickr Does anyone out there have a favorite vegan naan recipe? <3

Those look delicious! I love naan. I've made this recipe a few times with very good results: http://www.journeykitchen.com/2011/08/h ... .html#moreIt's easily veganised by using soy yoghurt and oil (I use peanut) for the animal products. I'd love to read your recipe as well!

I meant to post the recipe! :) http://www.manjulaskitchen.com/2007/05/22/naan-bread/I was drawn to that one because it has both a text format in addition to a video step-by-step. With a lot of these items, it's all in the technique. This is the closest I've gotten to the naan I'm used to in Indian restaurants...but I'm still always searching for authentic items that can be made vegan. Yum!

I've been using this recipe with great results! http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/indian-naan-ii/Detail.aspxMy mods are canola oil for the ghee in the dough, and soy yogurt of course. Then I use Becel (Danish vegan margarine) to brush the bread before cooking it. Rather than bake it in the oven, I cook it for about a minute on each side in a VERY hot skillet on the stove. Yummy!

Just quietly, there's a recipe for naan in Terry's upcoming book and it's by far the best one I've tried.

i made the naan from the Joy of Vegan Baking yesterday (picture in my "cooking party food" thread) and it came out more poofy and bready than i expect naan would be. not sure what the difference is. comparing some of the recipes posted it seems pretty similar

I think I have that texture fairly well down now.
