Is anyone running in B2B? It's on May 20 this year.

If you are interested in entering it, would you be interested in forming a vegan and/or PPK centipede/vegipede? A minimum of 13 runners would be needed.

I don't see it as a fundraiser, but it could be, if there was interest.

I don't live in the Bay Area, but I've always wanted to run in SF and it would be so much fun to run it with a group of vegans!

How long is the run? I'm out on an injury right now and can't start running for awhile yet. But if it's a shortish distance I could probably do it!

I'm not a runner, but I'd give it a shot!

So I was actually intelligent and looked it up myself, it's 12K, which I should be able to do by May! Sounds fun!

I've always said I'm going to do it and then I don't, but if there were a vegan/PPK contingent AND we get to wear costumes, I'm in. And I'm walking all the hills.

FYI for anyone interested who doesn't know, 12k is about 7 miles, it's a run that's literally the width of SF.

Dammit. I really wanted to do this, but my friend is getting married in Pennsylvania on May 19th, so I will be flying back out here on the 20th. Booooooooo!

I'm usually out of town for this, but if I'm around, I will cheer y'alls on! I don't run for anything, but I support those of you who do. <3

Me too.

That just makes me want to participate in it more.

I would LOVE to do this. I have been wanting to go to SF for a while now, but I'll have to think hard about the timing. I am running the Vancouver full marathon on May 6 so I'm not sure if traveling (again) will be ideal. I'll check out some cheapo travel sights.

Online registration closes on May 9 or earlier if the race reaches capacity...50,000 runners.

Registration is $57 for the basic level (no t-shirt).

The centipede segments/runners must be connected. The leader must wear antennae, the caboose must wear a stinger of a specified length.

This is the 100th Bay to Breakers, which I find hard to believe!

Headphones are not allowed.

FYI my average pace is about 10:44/mile on flat courses. Just so folks know...this isn't going to be a race for speed! At least not for me.

What shall we do post-race?? Eat! But where??

Before foot surgery I run about 10:00/mile but I haven't ran since July so who knows what I'll be doing in May (I can start running again end of Jan, yay!)

Oh you guys this sounds like so much fun!!!

OK...so far I have interest from:

1 quagga
2 couroupita
3 lobsteriffic
4 Erika soyf*cker
5 darth cupcake
6 studio

I know you are all mostly maybes, but I wanted to get a headcount. I think we won't be able to fill out a PPK vegipede, but if we look outside PPK, we probably can. I have some good friends who are vegan and who are runners who I think I can get to participate. Also, I know a lot of Sacramento peeps and Jen and he who must not be named from Neverfeltbetter might help promote.

I think B2B will sell out, so I just want to make sure that if the vegipede happens we don't get shut out. :)

Quagga, I'm not on the list! As much as I want to, I will not be in the state on that day. Sorry!

I'm totally cool with non-PPKers being in our vegipede - let's make it happen!

Oh dang, the last time I timed myself was in HS and I'm sure I'm way slower these days. So yeah, count me in and hopefully I won't drag the vegipede down.

OK, thanks for clarifying. The list was just to get an idea of numbers. I'm checking with my friends and will post an update when I get some tentative commitments. I'm also going to check with the Sacramento vegans, too. I'll let the SF peeps reach out to SF peeps.

Also, I want to let folks know that May 20 is the weekend of the Farm Sanctuary Hoedown in Orland, so that may affect your plans.

ETA there is also an annular eclipse that begins on May 20.

Put me down for maybe! I'll be training for a half marathon at that point and may want to run more "seriously", but maybe not. I'm super slow, so serious running would probably be right about the same pace anyway.

Yeah, I know. Not as spendy as some races, but not cheap, either.

Anyway, it doesn't look like this is going to happen, folks. I've not been able to drum up enough segments to make a vegipede. Maybe next year!
