15 months after my daughter was born, and still no period. We do breastfeed, but she's down to less than 4 nursing sessions per day, often only twice per day. I'm really surprised it's not back yet.
So, of course, I wanted to know when the PPK moms got theirs back! (If you have multiple kids, you can select more than one option!)

Mine came back exactly one week after poopiebaby's first birthday, and we were still nursing a minimum of 8 times a day. In fact, we still are at 18 months.

Last month I had what seemed to be a (relative to my norm) very light period, without much cramping. I was under the impression from posts here that the first postpartum period was just the opposite - hellishly gushing.
I suppose I should start trying to chart basal temperatures and whatnot a la TCOYF to figure out whether the ovaries are back in business, but it would mostly be to know what's going on rather than birth control so I'm not that motivated.

I've had it I think 3 times now, (Kai is 15 mo.) and they've all been much lighter and shorter than pre-pregnancy. Now that you mention it, I didn't really get cramps either. However PMS has been pretty hellish.

I just got my first full blown period on the Friday before New Years. So on the day that Ada turned 8 months. I'm still nursing every 2-3 hours except at night.

Mine came back after about two or two and a half years. I don't really remember exactly when, but it was glorious. I was still nursing my little guy, but only about once a day I think.

Mine was just before z turned 18 mos. It was very heavy and uncomfortable. Now they are fine again.
Z had basically cut down to about 2-3 times a day nursing at that point and completely by 21 mos.

I got mine back the next month. We were exclusively pumping for the month we were in the NICU. I was doing it religiously every three hours (through the night too), which I was hoping would spare me, but alas. Ezra's still a ferocious nighttime nurser, which makes me bisque about it even more.

10 months. Now they are heavier, last longer, and my cycles are shorter. 24 days last time! I am not in favor of this. Walter's nursing dropped off pretty steeply around that time, to maybe 2-3 times a day.

Mine was somewhere around 15-18 months and came back lighter, easier and more irregular.
ETA: and we were still BF around 6 times in a 24 hour period.

I got mine back right at 6 months. I was surprised, because I was still nursing constantly—or at least it FELT like I was nursing constantly—and I thought I'd get more of a break. Not so much!

I've yet to get mine back and I thought I'd be one of those Mom's who get it back right away. Miles is 7 1/2 months. I feel like I'm about to get it sometimes but then it passes. I'm not looking forward to it's return.

5 months exactly. Despite the fact that the Emperor nursed every 2 hours or less around the clock until way way past then.
Mine were a little more irregular at first-- a week late here or there-- but returned to normalcy by about a year. (Again, totally regardless of the fact that I nursed another year after that.) I think they are/were heavier and my PMS symptoms are three hundred times worse.

11 months with Beetroot, irregular/longer cycles. 20 months with Raygold (I got it 24 Dec); I nurse Reggie maybe once during the day and 4 or more times at night and I'm still nursing in tandem, although Beetroot only nurses a few times a week now.
The best thing about post-partum periods is I don't get cramps anymore. They were hellish back in the day.

Grey is six months and no signs of a period. Although, I didn't have a period for 5 months before I got pregnant, so it has been 19 months since I have had a period.

The only thing I've noticed about my periods since having Dahlia is that I actually get cramps , sometimes pretty bad ones. I never did before pregnancy (and my period came back 5 months postpartum last time, about 2 months after I stopped breastfeeding).

4 months for me. They're not quite regular yet, but more or less the same heaviness as before.

I had to change my answer. I got my period yesterday! I'm so mad! I told my husband the day before that I felt like I was getting it. So it took 7 1/2 months to show up.

Maybe, just maybe it isn't but in bled for the firstv3 weeks then nothing and now this. It seems like fresh blood too :( waaaaah, and V totally doesn't get it. I told him I was upset if I am going to use my period this quick and he says to me "you already had 9 months off, you complain abou the weirdest things." I am pretty sure I got mine at 7 weeks pp. It seemed like a period and fresh blood etc. I feel like no, I didn't get 9 months off because I was pregnant and now I need this time to worry about changing a diaper, not my own diva cup. Anyway I will find out if I had my period pretty soon if I get another one? I am pretty sure that is what it was but not 100% positive. A lot of people said it was break through bleeding which I had but this seemed different to me. I am breastfeeding on demand exclusively too. He just started getting a bottle when I am at work but I am pumping.

From what I understand (and what happened to me!) that it's ridiculously typical for women to bleed some around 4-6 weeks postpartum, but not have an actual period.. If you're just starting to become active again after taking it easy, lochia can let up and then come back when you start moving around more. A friend told me that anything <8 weeks is still considered lochia, not a period, but I don't know the medical basis for that.
Anyway, I had some bleeding around a month after birth, but I don't think it was a period, and I didn't see any more bleeding for months.

thats good to hear annak. I really hope that wasn't my period coming back so soon but wouldn't be suprised if it did. When I had my miscarriage my period came back exactly 28 days after it started. I always have on time 28-30 day cycles. My body is very "regular" in that way.

Weeeell, it happened again a month later, so I'm definitely in the "back at 5.5 months" camp. Yippee. I forgot how bad period farts stink.

Mine came back right at 6 months even though I felt like I was nursing constantly (and several times during the night).
