I've tried Yelping a little, but it didn't work out so well (the places were closed)...
I need to buy some blank greeting cards, and some thank you cards. I'd much rather buy from a nice local business, ideally sourcing from local artists, than from a Walgreens Hallmark aisle or something. (However, because of what a miserable experience I have every time I try to get things delivered to my apartment, I'd much rather do Hallmark than Etsy or something online. Sorry.) Can any of you fine folks recommend a place where I could buy cards? Ideally in San Francisco, ideally in the downtown area, but I also work over in Oakland (near-ish Temescal and Piedmont) and I can travel a little if somewhere is mind-blowingly awesome.
But mostly, I just REALLY owe my grandmother and sister thank you cards for the holiday gifts, so I'd like to get those out ASAP, so that is my priority--get these promptly!
Thank you, beautiful people.

I buy pretty much all my cards from Rainbow, so there's that. There's also Otsu on Valencia around 20th (I think?). They have super cute stuff!

Little Otsu would have been the place to go to, but I think they've been closed for like a year.
I found some cards at a different store last month on Valencia. Don't remember the name and have a hard time telling the stores apart around there -- West side of the street between 16th and 20th somewhere.

Usually little book stores and Whole Foods usually have a small card selection that are made by indie artists. Paper Source is another good spot, I think there's one in the Marina and Lower Pacific Heights andddd maybe one more somewhere.
My local neighborhood store where I got for my cards is Urban Mercantile, it's right off the N Judah at Carl and Cole. They have a good selection of single cards, as well as packs. I got some rad thank you cards (with glitter!!!) last year.

Bummer about Little Otsu!
There's also Wishbone at 8th and Irving in the inner Sunset.

There's a small giftshop on Piedmont Ave. (around 40th.) called Nathan & Co. that has cards. (They also have a location near Rockridge BART.)
