I'm looking for suggestions for brands of instant meals where you microwave or just add hot water which are xgfx. I'm about to try Dr Douggals pad thai noodles and have previously enjoyed an italian gluten free pasta meal although I can't remember the brand. I'm going to be travelling and will have limited options while flying and when I arrive so want to have a few backup options.

The DR douggals pad thai is actually not bad for a meal in the cup. Also I know there are lots of indian microwavable meals but I find a lot of them to be too spicey

Does McDougalls have any other GF options? I like a lot of their noodle meals in cups.
just looked at website: spring onion one is good, too. Tortilla was just "meh" to me. I think I liked the black bean as well. Haven't had the others. The ready to serve soups are just put in bowl and heat, too, so there are those. Veggie one is good.

Do you have access to Thai Kitchen products or A Taste of Thai? What about Tasty Bite? They are definitely your tastiest options.
Tambobamba can be hard to find, but they're decent and filling.
Minsley has instant rice and quinoa bowls, as does Annie Chun's, which could be helpful- buy some condiments for it, add some vegetables, and you have a full meal.

I can also point you toward gf vegan freeze-dried meals I use for backpacking, which fit your requirements but differ in textural variation and flavor significantly as you can imagine, like this type of lentil soup, dhal, instant chowder, chili, pinto beans, etc.

Have you considered making your own instant packets of food?

You`re going to Love this idea: One Minute Chocolate Cake - made in the microwave! I came across it on Chocolate-Covered Katie`s blog, made it yesturday and it`s amazing! I made a few changes like using oat flour - as fine as I could make it, but here`s the original recipe. I would lower the amount of salt, and maybe lower the amount of liquid a bit or up the microwaving time a bit, but here`s her recipe:

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon plus 2 tsp cocoa powder
3 tablespoons spelt flour (or white, or even coconut or peanut flour)
1/8 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 stevia packet (or 1 more tablespoon sugar)
1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable oil (Edit: many commenters have said it still tastes good if you sub applesauce or mashed banana. But I can’t personally vouch for the results if you make that substitution.)
3 tablespoons milk of choice (I used almond milk)
1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract

Combine dry ingredients and mix very, very well. Add liquid, stir, then transfer to a little dish, ramekin, or even a coffee mug. Microwave 30-40 seconds. If you don’t want to eat it straight out of the dish, be sure to spray your dish first (and then wait for it to cool before trying to remove it).
If desired, top with chocolate fudge icing.

A REALLY amazing quick and easy, 1-size serving, gluten-free, vegan, chocolate dessert recipe - What more could a girl ask for? =P
