PSA: Urban Decay Lush Lash Mascara

Please be careful if you have no experience using a brush like this!!! It is sharp!

Let me elaborate by saying that I have, for years, put my masacara on the same way but have never used a brush like this one. I've always had the large, bristly style brushes. Nothing like this little comby, spiky, pokey, crazy thing that Lush Lash has. I have always gotten very close to the base of my lash, so close that usually, the inner top part of my eyelid gets mascara on it. DO NOT TRY THIS WITH THE LUSH LASH BRUSH, YOU WILL POKE YOUR EYE OUT!

I really love this mascara, but the brush will take some getting used to. If you have never used a mascara with a brush like this one, PLEASE BE CAREFUL!

I will also say again, that this mascara is the first vegan mascara that I have been 100% happy with, brush and all (now that I know how to use it)!

ETA: picture so you can all see what I am talking about when I say spiky brush. It's hard, not soft.

I am not a fan of the curler...it pulled a clump of my lashes out, I am taking it back. I am not sure if I like the mascara yet...

I am not sure if I like this mascara. I am trying to like it - however it leaves my lashes kinda spidery and I can only use one coat. My lashes are super long though. My fave mascara is the lengthening with the growth serum (I believe) one from WnW (it is vegan).

Where is my mascara going? I was excited to try this stuff and it went on really well, but then at night when I go to remove my make up, nothing comes off my eyelashes and there doesn't seem to be any mascara left. I'm not seeing flakes or raccoon eyes either. Disappearing mascara!

I love this mascara so much. I have almost zero eyelashes and it makes me look like I have eyelashes. It's awesome. (and yeah the curler is crepe. It's terrible. I went back to my almost broken shu uemura curler that is almost 6 years old. YIKES. I can't find one I like!!!)

Sigh, I am so excited at the prospect of a decent vegan mascara. Any word on where it's available in the UK, or any US stores that will ship here? I'm using a combo of Barry M and Urban Decay Lash Primer at the moment, but they're not making my eyelashes 1960s enough!

Turtle Express- I have emailed UD to ask when/if it'll be out in the UK, no reply yet. I'm really excited to try this as I've not found a vegan mascara that isn't more than 'meh'.

Holylopez — me too! They are all truly rubbish. I went on an email rampage yesterday and so far I've had two replies:

HQ Hair said, "I have queried this with the purchasing department for HQ Hair and await a response. I will update you accordingly as soon as I am able."
Debenhams said, "I am unable to confirm if Debenhams will be stocking the mascara you are enquiring about. I suggest the best course of action would be to contact Urban decay within a local store to yourself. If you would like to provide the name of your local store I will be able to confirm a telephone number for you to contact Urban decay direct. I look forward to hearing from you shortly."

Pretty unhelpful so far, but I'll let you know if anyone gets back to me with anything useful. In the meantime I might go and pester the people on every Urban Decay counter in Manchester... That mascara WILL be ours!

I am newly vegan. Probably 2 months now. I never realized that makeup isn't vegan until a girlfriend told me. Anyhoo, I been researching, reading about several different mascaras on different blogs. A few praise this mascara and the looks of it...you all do too. A few blogs I went to also praised others. One is Manic Panic which I'm sure are interested because of the price. What do you all think? Do you agree with what they say about the mascara. Here are a few links I went to.

I thought Wet n Wild mascara was vegan? I don't know if it's considered good quality, but it's affordable and works ok for me.

Revlon Grow Lash is vegan. Kiss Me by Blinc is vegan. I've been using a combination of those two for some time now. Also, most NYX mascaras are vegan and their growth mascara is decent. I can't wait to try this UD one! I was a fanatical Full n Soft user until I woke up. I haven't found anything like it yet, but I really love Kiss Me. Anyway..

Me too! I'd really love to get to that point again where I feel like I've found The One, and I can stop looking. I like the Lush Lash quite a bit, but it doesn't make me want to stop trying others.

I'm curious about that Manic Panic one, and I still want to try the one from Fresh- Supernova, I think?

Ladies, we will be looking for the perfect mascara until the day we die: it just doesn't exist. I am waiting for my Barry M mascara to come in the mail. High hopes, likely to be crushed . I liked Lush Lash for one month until it dried up too much.

I LOVE Barry M Mascara. Don't lose hope!

I got this for Christmas and while I don't use it all the time I swear it's making my eye lashes longer. It's not the best by itself, but I layer it with two of my Wet n Wild mascaras and I end up with long thick dark lashes. Very happy.
