I think I could stand to go a couple sizes bigger... That's what I always say though!

This is the most recent, close-upish photo I have, from when I got my rook pierced (and I made it black and white so the blood wouldn't be noticeable and gross people out).



And these are my super-sexy gemmed eyelets.

I miss my plugs. My right ear hole got infected and I had to let them shrink down.

8 mm. But this picture is really old, I've had them out for more than 4 years now. Looking at this picture is making me want to stretch them again!

I love this but I don't know if I would want to have permanently streched earlobes. I am guessing if you don't stretch them too much they will shrink back, right?

14mm, wearing boring black plugs because I'm still in my work clothes (and jewellery).

Possibly, some people are 'stretchier' than others and it's easier for their lobes to shrink back down. After a certain point (most people say it's 2g), it's unlikely that your ears will shrink all the way down. I don't wear regular earrings anyway because they make my ears itch, so if I decided I didn't want big holes anymore i'd still wear the same kinds of jewelry, i'd just let my ears shrink as much as possible and buy smaller plugs. Or just leave them empty, it's not particularly horrifying if I walk around with empty lobes.

I always love how plugs look on other people, but I don't think I'd love them on myself. Anyway, your's all look great, and I look forward to following this thread.

Thanks MBM. I love the way plugs look too but I think I would lok stupid with them, which is silly. I don't know whether I should go for it or not.

Mine are 5/8", plus 2g conch punches in each ear. In my lobes I only ever wear Omerica wood now, it's my favorite. Plus, by the way, their customer service is amazing. Also, I'm wearing silicone hider plugs in my conches, which I usually do for work. Here's plugged and naked:

Stop looking all awesome and stuff. I love the conches. Mine is at a 6 and I wanted to go bigger but stretching it was only slightly less painful than stretching my septum which was horrific. I wish I'd known about punches when I was younger and I would have just done that.

I've had the same screw-on tunnels for 8 or 9 years now. I like wearing big, bangle earrings and getting compliments from little old ladies.

I try wearing hoops through mine but they always end up sliding around and the clasp ends up at the bottom and it looks dumb. It's the only time I wish my ears were smaller.

Thanks! And I think 6 is a good size for a conch piercing...especially if you stretched to get it there. I can't imagine stretching cartilage, that SOUNDS horrific. It took the punches a good, gross* year to heal, and I slept on a travel pillow (with the hole in the middle) all the time, that was my mom's idea. But given the pain of the punch, I can't imagine the pain of stretching!

*gross picture. They eventually healed up beautifully, there's no (visible) scar tissue at all.

You could try wearing a large captive or segment ring. With a segment ring, it wouldn't be noticeable if it slid around.

Yeah, BAF sells what they call 'hoochie hoops' but they are crazy expensive, and regular segment rings don't come that large.

Oh I miss my conches. I had to take my horseshoe shaped barbells out for a job that I ended up quitting anyway. =' (

I stretched mine and def recommend that, it takes long but there's no scarring and at least for me it didn't hurt a bit.

You could try getting a nice looking taper that goes to a 4 or 2, and just wear that as normal, and just slightly pull it tighter every now and again. Like a spiraly thing. You wouldn't feel a thing that way!

That's why I use crappy costume jewelry intended for 12 year olds.

ETA: The hoops are crappy, not the tunnels. People shouldn't put crappy jewelry through actual piercings.

Tapers shouldn't be worn as jewelry. and spirals aren't meant to be tapers. The easiest, most pain-free way to stretch is by taping: add a few layers of plumbers tape to your plugs every 2-3 days (whenever they feel a little loose), coat with jojoba or vitamin e oil ( the tape is meant to stick to itself so it's not going to slide in your ear without some lube).

Or that, yeah! :P I never had problem just getting them stretched nice and fast at a shop so I was just guessing with that.

I had my stretched to 2g and they've been out for about a month and are pretty much shrunk back to "normal". If I'm not wearing any earrings the holes just look slightly wider than what you' expect from non-stretched earholes (but they're not like gaping holes or anything).
