So...if someone's coworkers have been doing a bit of ribbing about vegan food...I'm thinking the best thing to do is to bring them a really yummy sweet treat, have them devour it, and THEN tell them it's vegan. ;)
But I need a really awesome recipe for this and I haven't done a whole lot of vegan baking. Just a muffin recipe and chocolate chip cookies from VWAV.
What's your go-to recipe for surprising omnis with yummy vegan food?

I have made the peanut butter pillows from VCIYCJ several times, and brought them on field trips and classmates were all over them. I've left them puffy like a pillow, and pushed them down flat, and I prefer when they're flattened, because there's a thin peanut butter layer throughout, instead of getting a big mouthful of peanut butter all at once.

Margarita cupcakes. Mexican hot chocolate cupcakes. Someone once told me they were "good. like, really good. not just vegan good." Fudge! My boyfriend's grandpa really loves this: http://anjisgoodies.com/desserts/vegan-fantasy-fudge/. He didn't even think to ask me if it had tofu in it until months later.

My friends are seriously obsessed with my mini vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting (vctotw). Even simple variations like vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting, or chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting are not nearly as popular. This perplexes me, because usually chocolate is more popular than vanilla. One friend admitted that it's the fact that my mini cupcakes have more frosting than cupcake that does it for her. But still,it's the vanilla on vanilla action that gets them going "Oh, yeah, Rhizo brought the famous cupcakes! How are these vegan? They are soooooo gooooood!!!!!" I've also had great luck with vwav Chocolate Raspberry Black Out Cake: V'con lower fat chocolate bunt cake (especially made as a layer cake with amaretto coffee buttercream, lemon coconut bunt cake, (with lots of lemon glaze poured on top and extra on the side for the frosting fiends like me!) and chewy chocolate raspberry cookies; and Viva Vegan Flan (coffee or vanilla/coconut).

I made a white chocolate cake once, which was distressingly good for all involved.

This is the easiest recipe and it always impresses the hell out of skeptical omnis - the lower fat chocolate bundt cake from vcon. it's super moist, super chocolately and super delish. sprinkled with powdered sugar or a chocolate glaze. it's perfecto!

I second the lemon coconut bundt cake from VCON. I brought this to afternoon tea with some omni friends and they devoured it.

Really, anything I've baked from Isa and Terry's books has impressed. The VWAV pumpkin muffins are great if you don't want to go the dessert-y route. I have gotten raves for the Mexican chocolate snickerdoodles from VCIYCJ, the raspberry blackout cake from VWAV, the apple peanut butter caramel bar things from Vcon, along with everything I've made from VCTOTW.

I make the raspberry chocolate chip blondies from VWAV all the time. I've had many, many omnis ask for the recipe, and then they make it to take somewhere and then THEY get asked for the recipe. They're quick to make too. Doooo it!

the hearty spiced cocoa muffins from joy of vegan baking turned out phenomenal for me. they were definitely more cake-like than muffin-like, so i'd just throw some awesome frosting on there all piped up real pretty.

The Raspberry Blackout Cake(VWAV) is always a huge hit w/omnis.

yes to the raspberry blackout cake and lemon coconut bundt cake.
I'd add the peanut butter blondies from vctoyj - so easy and delicious. I had a co-worker who does not cook ask me for the recipe, claiming they were so delicious that he would learn how to make them.

Replace the fat/oil in a baked good recipe with cocoa butter. It works. I made blondies once with cocoa butter, and my boyfriend went nuts. Well, he's vegan, but whatever.

I'll third raspberry blackout cake. Over the holidays, I made the pumpkin brownie from vciycj and chocolate pumpkin loaf from Isa's blog a few times... both with rave reviews! You also can't go wrong with a basic cupcake all fancied up, because who can resist that?!

Definitely the chocolate peanut butter pillows. I've made them many times with great success. They also work great with other nut butters. I've tried sunflower seed butter and almond butter.

Stop wasting your time on Omnis and bake for *meeeeee*!
I second pretty much anything that's been mentioned. I also love Vegan Cookie Connoisseur.

My omni's love the Chocolate Chip cookies from VWAV. I don't use margarine tho, I subsitute shortening + water instead.
They also enjoy the Oatmeal Rasin cookies from Vegan Diner.
I've always had good feedback regarding the chocolate peanutbutter pillows. However, I don't usually take those out amongst the public as I worry about people with peanut allergies getting ahold of them accidentally.

I used EB when I made the chocolate chip cookies and they were a little salty -- but now I know to cut back on the salt. ;) They were still good though.
I'm also going to a vegan potluck and haven't completely decided what I'm making for that either.
