dun dun dun

the bat with colourful drippy background was a black and white still life project from 2nd year painting, we had to make our own black out of complementary colours and i used as much colour as possible HA

magenta-yellow sky with floating bloated dude is just some random shiitake i did this summer

the foetus thing is entitled "mother's nature", a photo extension project

This is beautiful. Like, envelops my heart. The blotchiness of the color and the adrogyny and calm of the person is just...great.

yes, the canvas is curved

i suck at photographing my work - the colours are much more vibrant in person - but you get the general idea.

i really love the colouring on the face - especially that sweet little swipe of bright yellow by the nose. so nice!

i wish you could see all the texture in it, too! the painting is really shiny and drippy and thick.

I will have to take a photo of my recent painting (of my precious dog friend who passed away 2 years ago).... but in the meantime, here is one from late 2006 or early 2007. I haven't painted much since then.. I have been doing mostly illustration and relief prints. However, I am taking a painting class this next term, so hopefully I will get inspired again to pick up the brush!

Try taking photos outside, no flash with direct sunlight. Seriously, I find that the best lighting for artwork.
