I just started doing yoga and both times I've found myself blubbering after wards. I hope this is normal. Maybe it's a release thing, like when one gets a massage?

I just started doing yoga about a month ago. I haven't cried yet, but I usually feel a nice release from the tension that's built up over the week. It could be that crying for you is the way your body & mind react to such a 'sudden' release of tension in your body.

I've had this happen quite a few times. The relaxation at the end always leaves me feeling very mellow and often tears seem like the normal response for me when I feel like that, so I would agree - definitely just a form of release.

Yoga does one of two things, leaves me feeling incredibly happy in a spacey way or less frequently makes me cry. Either way I always come away feeling so much better.

I get irritable after. It makes me feel like I'm doing it "wrong" because most people are relaxed.

It really is a thing. I've been so embarrassed in the past (but I shouldn't be, etc...). I always think it feels great after the fact.

Totally normal, and totally good for you! It means you're letting things out. It's good stuff.

Its definitely a good thing, means you relaxed and any stress build up is being released. Half the time, we don't realise how stressed we are even when we feel okay :)

This happens to me any time I do any work out, yoga especially. I feel a little better knowing it happens to other folk too!

This happened to me last weekend! I took yoga in college and never cried, and I've taken 3 classes this past month, and nothing--then after 2 classes this past weekend, bam! tears on the way home, out of nowhere!

I've had a couple of yoga teachers who have mentioned in class that it's normal to cry. According to them (and I believe it) we hold a lot of tension and emotions in our muscles, and as the muscles relax and warm up, the feelings come out. I've definitely been there.
Bekki: I've also been there! If I'm taking a class that's more exercise focused than meditation, and I forget that it's not a competition, I get really pissed. My balance isn't great, so if I'm in the mood, I get so frustrated about not being able to do a pose that all of the good vibes are replaced with grrr.

Yep, it's happened to me at the end of the class when meditating. It really does feel like a release thing.
It's also normal to fall asleep at that time too... which totally did not happen to me at my first class after having Ezra. And I totally did not snore loudly. No. Not at all.

Sometimes I cry after yoga. It's more like tears just coming out - no sobbing or bawling like crazy, but I do sometimes feel more emotional. Also, I always fall asleep in the meditation part at the end. haha
It's comforting to know that happens to others, too!

I was like that my first few classes. I thought something was wrong with me or that I was really more stressed than I knew, but now I think it's just some of the "baggage" that we all have being released.

It hasn't happend to me, but I remember it did happen to a new student in a class I was in once. She was embarrassed, but the teacher assured her it was normal. In this class I'm in now, with this teacher, I often leave with the happy spacey feeling, but this is the first class that has ever done that for me. I don't know if it's this teacher, or if I'm different now, but I think it's more the way this teacher runs her class.

i felt very weepy after yoga today. it felt normal, though. i was reaching some of those emotions during the meditative parts of my practice today and in the privacy of my car on the way home, i was able to let it all hang out.
