I'm cool with Sundays and SO's. Hopefully the weather is nice by the weekend!! Do you guys know of any nice parks?
ETA: How funny, I just googled "Best parks south bay" and Vasona Park came up on top! I live right down the street from that park, now I can take pride that it's best in south bay!

I'm good with either but the weather this weekend is going to be chilly and possibly rainy, so maybe hope for better weather next weekend?
Either way, I just got some sumac so I'm excited to make some kind of middle eastern deliciousness!
The only park I really know is Alum Rock, where we went last time - Vasona sounds promising though.

Ok I don't know about savory yet but a coworker gave me a bunch of limons from his tree so I'm going to try to make the key lime pie from VPITS.

did we decide on a location? I have no idea about parks and what-not in the area so it really doesn't matter to me at all. but if we're going to a park that isn't accessible by public transit do you think I can score a ride with someone? I can bus to a more convenient location to meet you depending on where you're coming from/where we're going.
excited!

Hey peeps! Is anything going on for Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale? It kind of snuck up on me this year.

Great! I will look into organizing a south bay one. Do you guys know if it has to be in April to be part of the WWVBS? I've got work stuff every weekend in April but I can plan something for May.

I think the 'official' dates are 4/21-4/29, but I'm pretty sure nobody is going to get too bent out of shape if it's late?
I feel like it (WWVBS) hasn't been promoted nearly as much as it has in past years. I forgot all about it until I saw the thread for the SF bake sale.

Hey guys! Sorry I've been MIA since I moved to SF. I wish I hadn't missed the bake-saling this year! Maybe we can do one of our own?
Let me know when you're coming up to the city and we can grab some vegan treats.

Hey Dina! Yes, we should def hang out in SF some time! Hope you're having a blast up there.
South Bayers, I have news!
The Sunnyvale Tutti Frutti now has soy froyo! It's tangy and vanilla-y on its own, and yummy with lots of fresh fruit.
Cupertino has an Ike's! I guess it opened end of Feb but I only just noticed it.

I just moved to Palo Alto a week ago and don't know a single person. If there are any PPKers around, I'd love to meet-up with you! I don't have a car though so can't be a cool person in The City. The 'burbs are killing me. Be my friend, please.

Hi Alin!
I work at Stanford. Palo Alto is pretty vegan friendly! :)
We have pretty regular south bay meet-ups and are about due for another one. Would love to meet you!

Where/when are your PPK meet-ups? My wife and I tried one of the vegan meetup groups before in Berkeley (kind of far) for a Thanksgiving a couple years ago. Didn't really feel any vibe with the people there. Another one in San Jose plays board games...uhh..no thanks. Basically we're looking for other vegans who are actually vegan, not just on or trying a vegan diet, or as someone said on here 95% vegan..not sure what the hell that is. Hoping to find some people with similar commonalities to enjoy other activities with beyond just dining out...but of course we enjoy that too! Active vegans in their 40's would be ideal.

Couroupita, I take yoga on the Stanford campus everyday. Thus far I've eaten at Lyfe (like 3 times), Jin Sho, Patxi's (OMG amazing), Oren's, Sprouts, a Thai place near Sprouts, Calafia, and lots of Trader Joe's snacks. I know there's a vegan Chinese place I need to get to and the brown rice sushi place behind Birch St. And Ike's! I must get my grubby hands on a meatball sub. Let me know where else you think is a must-do.
I'd love to organize a meet-up, or help at least. Even if it's just us two, let's do it! Friday's are great for me. Or mid-day on the weekends.
