as much as im excited for vegfest, i'd rather be go to coachella! My sister has been trying to get me to come out to CA for it but im took broke for a Cali trip until the fall. sadface.

I am new to a plant-based way of life and wanted to make some connections though :) Maybe next year!

You should check out the VegWorcester group! They do outreach, have dinners, potlucks, mac and cheese cook offs and all sorts of other stuff!!!

Hey everyone! I'm the founder of VegWorcester and an organizer for this year's Worcester VegFest. I'm so excited to see that y'all are talking about coming to the event this year. It's going to rule so hard.

But before I go any further, this weekend is the Mac Daddy Competition, a vegan mac & cheese cook off. Check it out: http://VegWorcester.com/MacDaddy YOU SHOULD COME TO THIS. It one of my favorite events that we do all year.

So back to VegFest... We have a new venue this year, Worcester Tech High. It's going to allow us to grow. There are 4 speakers, T. Colin Campbell from Forks Over Knives, Nathan Runkle from Mercy for Animals, and two others that will be announced very soon on our website and facebook page. Last year we had Terry Hope Romero do a cooking demo, but she couldn't make it this year. But you're going to like the other two presenters. There is also kids entertainment, a roller derby performance, tons of vegan food (free samples and full plates for sale), product samples, merch like shirts and stickers, and other fun stuff.

If you have any questions, requests or recommendations, post it here and I'll respond.

Central Mass roller derby?

WoRD - Worcester Roller Derby. I don't know the story about their league, but I think the Central MA league split and this is a resulting league. I think they got a warehouse practice space and started their own league.

They'll probably be outside in the parking lot doing a couple of bouts throughout the day.

We actually live in Worcester, but are hosting an extended family thing that day (plus it's my birthday; how did that happen??). But I hope you guys have a blast; I expect you to eat lots of free stuff to make up for my absence!
