You can download the pilot for free on itunes, and I think its available in other places (hulu?) as well. What do you guys think?

It's officially on next Monday, yeah? I'm excited, but I don't know if I should trust my computer to watch it or just wait until it's on tv.

Ahh I watched it. OH MY GOD. Loved it. I'm so invested. I love Christian Borle and Debra Messing's team. Actually, I think Katherine McPhee's character is the dullest of the bunch. I pretty much don't care about her at all, and I do care about the rest of them already. Anyway, SO fun.

The commercials make me want to kick my TV in, burn my house down and go live off the land.

I thought it looked kind of mehhh, and I'm very doubtful of Katharine McPhee's acting abilities (even her singing voice isn't as mindblowing as it is to others—but she has a pretty face? Like Carmindy from What Not to Wear.) But I did catch the pilot on Hulu and was pleasantly surprised. It was more refreshing than I though it would be.

Finally had time to watch this last night and I loved it. I have a total girl crush on the lady playing Ivy-she's brilliant. Katharine McPhee is blah, but I never found her as amazingly talented as everyone else did even when she was on AI, but hopefully she'll be able to step things up a bit as the season goes on.

I'm kind of on the fence. There are people I really want to like in this..Debra Messing, Anjelica Huston, Brian D'Arcy James and people who I haven't seen before like "Ivy", and "Tom" who I liked in the first episode. I think all the hype kind of got to me. I am definitely going to watch a few more episodes and see if it picks up for me.

Did anyone else watch the episode this week? I'm so happy Ivy is Marilyn. I would've stopped watching if she wasn't. And I totally teared up when Debra Messing was reading that letter to the birth mother.

So I thought the premise of this show (or at least the season) was the Marilyn musical. What happens with the other girl's character now that she didn't get the part? Are they going to cast her in another musical? Or is her story line just about auditioning for different shows? I'm confused...

Me too. I am wondering if she will be an understudy or chorus person and then that's where the tension will be?

I kinda wondered if they were going to have one girl play Marilyn and one play Norma Jean. I know that sounds strange, but the way they kept talking about how Ivy was perfect Marilyn but the other one was more green like Norma Jean. I guess I was getting too out there to think that...

I'm wondering if she'll be part of the My Fair Lady plotline - sounds like that's gonna be a big deal.

No one's said anything about the ridiculous Bruno Mars musical they were checking out the guy auditioning for Joe Dimaggio role in? I'm watching the episode now, I paused it just so I could see people making fun of it!

Well clearly he was supposed to be doing either RENT or American Idiot but they could only get the rights to a Bruno Mars song. I don't think there will ever be a jukebox musical based on the songs of Bruno Mars (god I hope not!)

Also, that doesn't stop it from being hilariously awful. They could have, after all, chosen something less comical. A jukebox musical of like, Dean Martin songs or something.

I found it hysterical that the cast had to say LaMama and Bruno Mars in the same sentence with a straight face actually. :)

I HATE the assistant and can't believe he's been allowed to hear and see so much after his attitude!

I cannot stand Florence and the Machine, but Katherine McPhee is killing that song right now!

This show needs more Bernadette Peters. And less of that annoying assistant guy.

I haven't watched the most recent episode yet...it's on my DVR. I thought about watching it today, then realized I didn't really care. I wonder if I'm starting to tire of the show...

You are not alone, I effing hate Ellis. I can't wait for Angelica's character to see through his "i'm so helpful" act and make it so he truly never does work in that town again.
My favorite part of the show is both that some of it is so bang on how things are in theatre, and other parts are so DEAD WRONG. Like: the first ep, where Karen sings ~Beautiful to audition for a show about ~Marilyn...and she gets a call back? In real life the panel would be making fun of her after she left for not having a clue about appropriate audition material, no doubt. :)
