I have a similar problem. I just bought Origins lightest shade (Stay Tuned formula, Fair), and it's too dark. Damnit! How did I used to wear this?

I really love that mineral foundation comes in a billion pale shades, but it makes me break out.

I need really pale, yellow- or neutral-based color.

Amy, which mineral foundation have you tried? Minerals should in theory be less likely to break you out as they should have less chemicals in. Has it got bismuth oxychloride in? I've heard a lot of people complain that breaks them out or makes them itch!

Do you guys get GOSH over there? I read on a make up blog that their lightest shade is super pale, however I'm not sure if it's vegan - I know a fair amount of their products are. I could investigate next time I'm in superdrug?

I've used Bare Minerals, Alima (too drying for my skin), and Everyday Minerals (which has my perfect shade). I might try Everyday Minerals again. Maybe it's my brush (I do try to keep up on cleaning it!) or the teeny tiny mineral particles. Who knows.

I also really want to try this Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation, but they're sold out of the light one. Also people say it doesn't give you much coverage.

Mineral makeup breaks me out too, and mineral eye shadows make my eyes itch. I use tinted moisturizer from Clinique, and my skin likes it, but it's pretty sheer. Their new BB Cream is vegan too according to the email they sent me, and it's supposed to have more coverage than the TM and it's supposed to be pretty pale.

I do a combo of TM and spot concealer even when I'm broken out, heavy foundation just makes my skin worse.

Has anyone with olive-toned skin found a foundation that works for them? I think I'll order samples from FACE atelier, but I'm pessimistic that I'll actually find something that works for me!

Ohh, thank you for reminding me about this! I'm going to see if I can get a sample tomorrow. I really liked the Boscia one, but it was too dark.

I use GOSH X-ceptional wear. I'm not sure if it's the same formula in the US, or if they reformulate it for the UK market, but here it's vegan. It probably is the same, but might be worth checking. Despite the name, it's not too heavy at all.

I need a rec for a good setting/finishing powder to top my foundation. I've been using Too Faced pressed powder and recently realized it has silk in it - UGH! I'm down with both loose and pressed, though I'm leaning towards using a loose since I have a nice brush for it.

My pressed powder (and loose powder) at the moment is MAC, so I'll be interested to hear any suggestions too, as I'll be looking for another when mine run out.

I actually use ELF Mineral Booster for this.

I'm actually looking for a pressed powder for touch-ups during the day as well. I use mineral powders as my foundation and finishing dust, but I always find them too messy and too much hassle to carry around during the day. I tried the Zuzu Luxe powder compact, and though I like their liquid foundation I wasn't crazy about the powder shades. Someone here suggested Origins, but now there's the animal testing issue with that.

I was thinking of trying Beauty Without Cruelty, they have a pressed powder that is very reasonably priced. It's been some years since I've used any of their products but I always have liked their stuff.

Mine are Aveda, that poses the same problem. Le sigh.

I dunno, it might still be really messy, but might work.

Has anyone tried Urban Decay's mineral foundation powder stuff? Over the years, my skin has drastically improved, but I still use the same kinds of make up I have done for ages, and it feels way too heavy.

I want to try Urban Decay's mineral stuff, as it seems like the best, non-tested, etc., that I can find. But, my local Debenhams has got rid of their UD counter, and I don't want to spend out on ordering it online and have it end up being rubbish.

Totally just realised this thread is about LIQUID foundation. But, whatevs.

I can't find UD anywhere now either except online. My local debenhams and boots have both stopped selling it! :(

I'm thinking about trying the UD mineral--I'll report back if I do. I finally got around to emailing Dr. Jart about the BB cream, so I'll report back on that, too. For powder I've been using MAC mineralize in Light which I confirmed with them is vegan-friendly. They didn't get purchased by evil people or something, did they? It's fine, but I'm thinking of trying the UD to see if it's better.

I stopped using it because it seemed hard to dispense but maybe I'll give it another try, as it was expensive and I still have a ton left. I like the idea of the dispenser brushes in theory, though, I will look into some more of those.

I like the idea of them too but I've never tried one. Except for this hideous shimmer powder thing that I had in the 90s! It was terrible, I'm sure they're better now!

I had a shimmer one from the Body Shop way back in the day, I can't remember if it worked at all, though.

Well, we did find out in some thread on here at their parent company, Estée Lauder, has decided to start animal testing again so they can get into the Chinese market (which requires animal testing by law). I'm so forking angry about this, I'm not a MAC girl but I LOVE Aveda stuff, which is another company owned by Lauder. Absolute bullshiitake.

Yipes! I was in Brazil for that! I'm super sad now. I didn't know Estee Lauder owned MAC. WELP, that just made an argument I was having much easier to settle. (Do I pay a couple of bucks more for the ease of picking up known vegan friendly eye shadows, or do I take the time to email MAC). I will gladly fork over the extra dollar or two. What are they thinking? What year is this? Why would anyone think testing on animals serves any purpose but to abuse animals. /thread derail-rant.
