i can't say i've ever seen them in any grocers, and tbh i'm not surprised since we have so many varieties that grow here already i'm not sure it'd be worth anyone's while importing them. just try some of the british apple varieties, you may find something similar amongst them!

I've just been to Lidls (to buy my almond Christmas biscuits!) and they had Honeycrisp apples- they were branded as Honey Crunch but on a closer look the small print (where the farmer name, country etc is) said honeycrisp, unfortunately I had my hands full of a billion things so forgot to remember where they came from etc but this post pinged into my brain (serial lurker, first time poster!)

AAAAAND.... has anyone seen sambal oelek? Or chipotles in adobo (for a less than extortionate price, Whole Foods! £4 a hit, are you crazy?!)

I can send you a bag of kala namak. I can get it dead cheap. I can also get sambal oelek dead easy but it'll cost a bit more to post. Don't they have it In Taj?

I'm not sure if it's considered to be very hard to find, but Alara in London sells vegusto cheese and some of their fake meats as well.

Alara has the meats too. The cheese has been at VX for ages.

I didn't know! For some reason I thought Vx had stopped carrying Vegusto and only sold Vegourmet so I didn't bother to look for it when I went. In any case, Vegusto is amazing. I think I might leave all of my belongings here when I move back to Montreal and just fill my suitcase with Vegusto products and bourbon creams.

They have chipotles, adobo and all sorts, I ordered waaaay more spicy stuff than I will get through really.

Efcliz has anyone PMed you for that salt? I've had my friends all looking out for it locally but no luck.

Yes, it's gone. I can definitely get more but I'm not sure when I'll next be there. It's not far at all, but not on my normal route. I'll grab a bag next time I'm that way.

any manc locals wondering where to get chipotles in adobo, mexican oregano and other tasty mexican ingredients; barburrito on deansgate has started selling them (as well as doing really awesome burritos obviously!)

I know this is an old thread, but chipotles in adobe is really easy to make. I get my dried chipotles in tesco in the special ingredients section (I should say that my tesco is an extra large one), but I'm sure you can buy them in waitrose. Here's the recipe:
