The other day I cut my shopping trip short because it was starting to get very snowy and I just wanted to get home. So I skipped Trader Joe's and grabbed a carton of Silk soy milk, the only brand of soy milk at the store I was at. I did not like it. It had a very strange slightly sour/sweet taste to it. I'm not sure if I've ever tried Silk soy milk before, but I won't be buying it again. Has anyone else noticed a weird flavor with Silk?

Normally I pledge allegiance to Almond Breeze or TJs unsweetened almond milk, but since moving to France almond milk is either too sweet or too expensive. Thus, I've recently been getting into oat milk, specifically Oatly.

I used to buy unsweetened soy milk (So Good brand), but ever since getting a Blendtec I've been making my own almond and oat milk. I still keep a few cartons of shelf-stable soy or almond milk on hand, just in case.

Almond milk is definitely my favourite, but with any of the non-dairy milks I prefer NOT to have it taste like, oh, vanilla. Hehe.
Sunflower milk is actually quite good too. I was surprised at how mild it was.

I used to drink a lot of milk pregan, and I went through a bunch of different options trying to find something I liked. Once I found unsweetened original Almond Breeze, I never looked back.

Home-made almond milk, or Vitasoy brand Soy Milk.
What frustrates me is that you can *never* find an organic, calcium and B12 added low fat milk here. It's always one or the other. Or a combination. And I'm pretty sure all of our milks have sugar added (almond milk here on shelves is something ridiculous, like 2% almonds), other than a couple which have a type of sugary syrup added.

Unsweetened plain almond milk, usually Almond Breeze. For a treat, Silk (I think) dark chocolate almond... mmmmm!

Ok, I finally found a different brand of almond milk (Provamel) and the difference was like night and day! Definitely a smoother experience than the brand I first tried, and I can see myself getting it more often. It's still a lot more expensive than soy milk, over here, though, so I think it will be an occasional treat.

TJs vanilla almond milk for smoothies and drinking, Harris Teeter organic soy milk for cooking and as an alternative. Today I found Good Karma flax milk at Whole Foods. I like it almost as much as the almond milk, and it has 1200 mg omega 3 per 8 oz.

Original Almond Breeze. I can't do unsweetened by itself in a glass or with cereal because it's so bitter. I purchased some So Delicious almond milk plus protein, not realizing that there's only 10% calcium a glass. Well then, not buying that next time.

ooooookay, i was defending the good karma flax milk earlier (probably in another thread) but i'm maybe a little over half-way through my very first carton, and i just spat out a penny-sized blob of gelatinous ick. my mind has been made up. i am not getting that ever again. (and this isn't from lack of shaking. i honestly think it'd have been better if it stayed sunk to the very bottom of the carton. blaaaaahhhh!) nobody wants surprise pudding in their cereal.

I like vanilla hemp milk (but I forget what brand I just tried!), whole Foods vanilla almond milk, and Blue Diamond's almond milk/coconut milk blend.

I used to be able to get a really good, really cheap hemp milk, but I moved and now there are only expensive ones. Boo!
Now, I use cheapy soy milk or Alpro almond milk, which is a bit too sweet.

Has anyone tried the So Delicious Almond plus protein?

I like Silk, the original for latte's and coffee, and the low calorie vanilla for smoothies. I use this mostly because of the protien content.
I like almond milk, but it is so much cheaper and tastes really yum to make yourself in a blender.
Soak 1 cup almonds overnight drain blend in blender with 4 cups of water (sometimes I add 1/2 tsp of vanilla) Strain drink yum
its that easy. keeps for about 4-5 days in the fridge. Perfect for smoothies.
I bet it is even better with a Vitamix

*Alpro soy (+ calcium) = best soy drink I ever tasted *Provamel almond drink for my cocoa (I luv its taste of marzipan, but I just can't have it in my cereal bowl) *Soy & rice drink (pure rice drink contains oil, which I abhor)

Alpro light soya - It's still a tad sweet and satisfies the freak of a calorie counter in me. (yeah I know...who'd a thunk it when you see the junk I eat for dinner?) Alpro hazelnut milk (LONG LIFE STUFF)- Gotta be long life, its got that thickness to it.. ughh so good!
I don't understand Oat milk and Rice milk fans. Back when I tried it, it was basically just the starchy liquid you get after you cook those things in water. So tasteless and watery! Then again that was a while ago... perhaps I should give it another go.
