Is my blade broken, or do they all look like this? (The splits by the bolts) I made this a vague thread title so other people could post things about their Cuisinart FPs here : )

I'd say broken. Mine doesn't have those splits. Hopefully you can order just the blade?

I've had some amazingly fast responses to customer service tweets! Once I was on hold with Comcast and tweeted at the same time. Immediately responded to the tweet and I gave up on the call after forever.

Oh yeah, Time Warner tweets are way better than Time Warner. Verizon too.
Cuisinart apologized and sent me their phone # and an URL for a form - I did the form, clearly.

That's what I'm hoping!
Oh crepe! I should tell them that when the tree fell through my roof it cracked the lid to my ice cream maker.

The blade on my (ten year old) Cuisinart is actually cracked exactly like that. I never noticed it before, but now I guess I should replace it. crepe.

I have a mini cuisinart with a blade that you flip if you want to chop v. grind or something. The plastic that the blade was fit into cracked after several years of use and it would start flying all over the cup really doing nothing productive. I think the replacement parts cost about $15. I hope they replace yours for free.

Don't write. Call. Cuisinart customer service is very good. I had a Mini-Prep and I dropped the bowl. They discontinued that model, so they sent me a newer model for free (I just had to return the old one).

You broke it.
I've had my Cuisinart for 10 + years, I once had to replace the blade when the plastic portion cracked causing the blade to fly off the central post and crash wildly against the lid. I was suddenly very grateful for the lid-locking mechanisms in a way I never had been before. Replacing it was very inexpensive and had the added advantage of brand new sharper blades.
