I liked Haley Johnson's video. "LLLAMA!" Her song really not good. I guess she's probably gone. Still listening. It's Nikki McKibben levels of bad. Wow. I liked her, too bad.

I'm probably done after this week. Didn't really see anyone that was great! But I guess I like the guys better than the girls.

I would say I'm pretty satisfied with the finalists. Pretty much everyone deserves to be there, I think, but I probably wouldn't listen to any of their music (which is expected of AI). I always want to give America/the judges/whomever a pat on the back when the talented, average looking contestant (Jeremy) is selected over a more "packageable" but questionable/mediocre one (Baylie Brown, Eben). I felt slightly guilty from how happy Eben's elimination made me. He's a young kid with big dreams! And I'm just a big meanie sitting on my couch, watching reality TV.
So for now, I'm lookin' at Elise, Hollie, Joshua, Jeremy, Jessica, and maybe Erika to succeed (her voice was weird and too alto-y tonight, I think). Down with Colton! No thank you. He's the only one I straight-up don't dig, but then I also think Shannon is bland (and it doesn't help that she chose a weird Christian song and that made me feel uncomfortable like the typical atheist I am). I like Heejun's personality more than his actual singing, which I think is the case for a lot of people, but I'd like to hear him sing something that's not a cheesy, dated ballad you would expect someone with a voice like his to sing. I think he has potential to push himself further, but who knows?

I really love Hollie. What is her accent? It's like a mix between Southern and British or something? I'll watch to hear her and Jermaine. I like the country girl but I'm not a fan of country, so...
Oh and Deandre, too.

I'm really liking Erika and Elise. They are a little older and more professional it seems. Like the judges always say, they know who they are as artists.

I remember when she almost made the top 24 last year they said Hollie was originally from England. I love her accent! I'm not loving Elise. I feel like Simon would tell her he could stumble into any bar and hear a rock singer just like her. I'm all about Joshua Ledet now, that boy can belt!

Aaaand after last night's performance, I stand by my thoughts of Elise above. She seemed SO uncomfortable, it was hard to watch. Something must have gone on behind the scenes, because she looked pissed for the entire episode. Either she was mad they switched the song on her or something else happened. Yikes.
Aside from Elise, I think Shannon will be in the bottom - her mistakes were just scary bad. And Jeremy Rosado will probably be the guy with the least votes. He's so adorable, but that song was just not right for him.
My favorites were Joshua "Church Hand" Ledet, Deandre (even though he tied back that glorious hair), and Hollie. While Jessica did a great job, I really think Hollie's voice is even better. I hope the two of them will go very far this season and duke it out.
Can I just say that I LOVE MARY J. BLIGE?! She seemed like the chillest mentor ever. The whole time at home we just kept singing "Don't need no hateration" cuz that's the only line of "Family Affair" we know, but we love it!
ETA: I am so sad Paul F. Tompkins is not recapping AI for New York Magazine this season. His recaps last year were half of the reason I even watched AI... Come back PFT!

I never loved her music but always loved her voice. Now I love her as a person. Maybe I'll give the music another shot.

I'm glad Jeremy is gone, I don't think he ever lived up to his potential. Seemed like a nice kid though.

Joshua is the best one, I could watch him forever. Deandre is good but not really nailing it. I love his voice, though. Phil is aight. None of the girls interest me at all.
Edited because I forgot about Hollie! She interests me.

Yeah, I'm voting for Joshua. If he gets his own record and sticks to sort of old school type music, heck, I might actually listen to that. I have a feeling Jessica Sanchez will make it to the end and even win, though.
Hollie is surprising me this season because she's much better than I remember. If anyone saw her previous audition performance of "The Climb," well, it wasn't very good.
I sort of have a love/hate relationship with Elise's tone. I like the roughness and rawness but she also has this nasally, whiny tone that reminds me of Fran Drescher. I guess the good thing about that is she has a distinctness, and obviously she sounds better than I imagine Fran would.

Also, how many times have judges on a music competition show referred to Janis Joplin?

I don't get the Jessica Sanchez thing. She sounds very shaky to me and just kind of unremarkable in terms of her voice.

Whos this Demi bint singing on the results. she sucks.
None of the girls do it for me yet. Theyre all kinda dull.
I love Phillip, Joshua and Colton. Even though he has stupid hair.
I agree about Jessica, and shes boring.
I love Daughtry. i wish I watched Idol the year Chris was in it.

johnny keyser (sounds like gavin degraw) was robbed; he totally should've been the 13th person. meh.
love phillip phillips like whoa. heejun is hilarious but he picks super boring songs. jessica sanchez sounds exactly like jennifer hudson to me! and hollie is really good too.

I'm interested to see if and how Jessica progresses. When she has the right guidance and tones it down instead of belting out every note like they're all equally important, I think she's pretty good. But right now she's sort of hit or miss for me. I definitely get a trying-too-hard/insincere feel from her sometimes (it's also weird that she's 16) because she's pretty aware of her strong singing abilities, but I think she has potential if she doesn't go overboard.
Hee Jun is just ridiculous. I don't even know what to think of him now, haha. Hollie is boring me a bit. I want less ballads. Phillip Phillips, whom I've never even been a big fan of 90% of the time, sounds way too aggressive when he sings.

I'm glad some of the people stood up to him and didn't take his bad fashion advice. Elise did a great job last night. She was really the only standout to me. Jessica sounded good, but she's a bit boring. All very meh.
