i put a coat of ozotic 505 over the zoya ibiza on my big toes (i just had to see what it would look like!) and it's sooo pretty! it reminds me of a peacock or a hummingbird or some other fancy iridescent bird feathers. can't wait to do a full mani/pedi like this!

So yesterday I spent a good chunk of time at Ulta, on the floor pawing through the bins of discounted nail polish looking for China Glaze that I just HAD to have. They didn't have what I wanted but I set aside about 8-10 different shades of CG crackle.

Decided I wasn't sure I would like the crackle, never having used it. So I left empty handed and unsatisfied.

Before I started lurking on this thread recently, I had never been to Ulta, never heard of China Glaze, and probably hadn't painted my nails in 10 years. Now I'm dreaming about nail polish, keeping pics of polish I like on my desktop, buying nail polish on Amazon, and trying to talk myself out of an Ebay polish order.

This thread has ruined me forever!

My sister-in-law and I went to her Sally's last week and they STILL had a few holiday shades, mostly Champagne Bubbles (the gold with a little glitter) and a ton of the metallic crackles.

Does anyone know if Ulta/Sally's regularly clearances out collections from the previous season or was it just after Christmas because there are so many holiday themed ones?

I was looking for Snowglobe, Twinkle Lights, and Tinsel Town. But have no fear, I got them from amazon. With shipping it was like $15 for all three.

I went to a Sally's the day before (first time I'd ever been there too). They had regular size CG Blonde Bombshell and mini Ruby Pumps. Got em both!

While I was at Ulta, one of the sales people dumped a bunch of bottles of Zoya in the bins that she literally just marked down in front of me.

Zoya Meg looks awesome.

I just put on Dior Waterlily. The smells is annoying, but color is gorgeous.

It makes me feel better about not having Jade.

Sometimes I think I like the look of the colors all together (rainbowy!) than I do by themselves, so I want to see swatches of the new shades before I get too excited. Or I could just be telling myself that because I am on a pretty tight budget for the next oh, 12 months.

I know what you mean. Zoya bottles, especially, look so pretty all lined up. Like candy. Zoya has one of the prettiest bottles.

I sometimes turn my desk chair around and admire my "wall o' Chanel." all the colors together are so pretty.

This week Rite Aid is advertising BOGO 50% off on nail polish. There were some exceptions but Sinful Colors and WnW are included :-)

I put black crackle over Blue Years Eve and it didn't crack very much and looks awful. Ugh.

I don't like crackle polish. I know a lot of people love it, but I can't get I to it.

YSL did an ad in Vogue with their crackle and it looked cheap.the nurse at my doctor uses OPI crackle, and she makes it look good.

I definitely couldn't make the stuff she rocks look good. She has gaga style almond shaped nails right now. They are short, but not my style at all. They work for her though.

It's fun seeing what her mani cure is when I goth for my appointmentss.

So far I have liked crackle one time i've used it. I paired black with a jade green and it looked really...striking, I guess. The texture definitely bugs me, and it seems like mine is already too goopy to get a thin enough layer where it wouldn't be so raised.

Black and jade green sounds like a great combination. Another combo I saw that I actually loved was one that mimicked mineral turquoise veining. I think it was on All Laquered Up.

I've heard you can't add thinner to crackle polish. If that is true and it's already goopy: what a rip off.

Do you screw your cap back on right away? I never leave caps off between coats. I'm paranoid though! I want my polish to still be in great shape years from now. I used to not be as diligent, a d colors from that time period are definitely less usable now, even over older ones. I need to try thinner, but I'm not entirely sure which are 3free and need Zoya and which are full of bad stuff and need Seche.
