Everyone add what you know! It's a vegan free for all, look out!

Since this is your own forum, why not start threads for all the places you like?

New Harmony for the very best vegan chinese food, dare I say, in the country!

Other favorites include, but are not limited to:

Abyssinia - West Philly's finest Ethiopian
Fu-Wah Market - West Philly's finest TOFU HOAGIE!
Mama's Vegetarian - best falafel in the city, hands down.
Sketch - black bean burgers, fries, seitan specials, vegan mac and cheese and milk shakes!
Royal Tavern - tempeh club!
A Full Plate Cafe - best vegan brunch in the city. Granola crusted french toast! Homefries with leeks!!
Su Xing - I love their sesame tofu and seitan, but everything else is kinda meh. they don't even serve vegan fortune cookies.
BLACKBIRD PIZZERIA for the win!

still in the process of trying to get some of the vegan friendly eateries together on a map. Hopefully itll get updated one of these days when I get some time… itll be a while though :)

http://hellopa.wordpress.com/restaurants/

anyways to add to the list:

Memphis Tap Room, always plenty of easily marked vegan foods, big fan of the veggie burger with the coconut bacon, actually anything w the coconut bacon.
Local 44, same owners as Memphis, everythings pretty much fried there but was a fan of the scrapple
Cantina / Dos Segundos, vegan French toast, amazing salads, plenty of other Mexican vegan food ie burritos/tacos/ect and free chips-n-salsa (big deal imo)
Good Dog – excellent reg/sweet potato fries, just put a vegan sloppy joe that was really good the other day
Belgium Café – favorite bbq wings in the city
The P.O.P.E. – been once, a lot of options but wasn’t blown away
Honeys – had a really good/large tofu asian salad on special once, tofu scramble was alright too
The Abbaye – just heard they put wings on the menu, need to try them out.
Almanac – small local grocer, usually has some sandwiches, soups, ect
Essene Market– usually good buffet options/grocery
FARMiCiA – veggie plate is a good portions of food and usually really good, they serve
South philly tap room – haven’t been yet, but planning one of these days
Homeslice – pizzas eh, crust is the main issue imo, but they do make their own nut cheese which I support fully, also many topping options and cheesesteak varieties.
Maru Global Takoyaki – the takoyaki (their specialty)is intriguing, kinda a weird texture but liked the bbq one the best

Plenty more… though

I don't really like tofu, so there was never any danger of a tofu scramble appearing on my plate. I am all about the french toast.

I think I will need to make a tofu scramble this weekend! I only like my own, with lots of cumin.

I love their french toast and the fact that the home fries are sweet potatoes and regular potatoes. My favorite thing ever was blackberry pancakes that were on the menu as a special last winter. They had these huge whole blackberries popping out the sides of the pancake, and the batter had mashed butternut squash. I think they've made them a regular item with a different fruit of the season, and I recently had peach ones, which were undercooked and made me sad. I still have hope for them and will try them again, whatever fruit it is. I also love their mac n'cheese.

I know this should go in a separate "A Full Plate" thread, but... to finish the current mac n' cheese exchange... The only other mac n' cheese I had was at Curly's and it just tasted like tumeric and nutmeg and grossness. (Sorry to all the Curly's fans). So I was pretty thrilled about the one at "A Full Plate." Maybe if I'd gone to Soul Veg and had a different level to compare it to, I wouldn't be as excited. My sister thought it tasted a little mustardy, but I didn't notice the lemon.

I like to order the tofu scrample as a breakfast burrito/wrap at A Full Plate. Just ask, they also do a Mexican Breakfast Pizza with the option of tofu scramble.

Well, I have had numerous different friends tell me that Dahlak has (had?) a lot of issues with sanitation violations, including a bad rodent problem. I ate there once, just to try it, and I do admit, it is delicious.
Also, I am partial to Mama's because of it's authentic Israeli-ness....yum yum!

p.s. yay, i just got promoted to 'wears pleather undies" haha!
