Hello all! I'm trying to get up & running with some small scale selling on Ebay. My sad little shop is here: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/cccvegancakecoMy personal Ebay account is brimming with hundreds of positive feedback - now here I am at zero again! I will buy some supplies (boxes etc) over Ebay to bump that up. But currently I'm not allowed to list more than I have there until my account has existed for a bit longer :/ I have a blog here that documents what else I've been baking: http://cottagecupcakeco.blogspot.com/If anyone has any thoughts/ideas (or indeed would like some cake) please let me know. Currently this is just a little side project, but I thought about doing it properly after selling various cakes/cupcakes over the last year or so to friends & acquaintances. As far as I know there's only one real rival in the area I'm in and his cakes are more old fashioned/traditional than mine. I'm not sure if Etsy would be a better arena! Anyway, any feedback welcome :) Jenny.

It might help you get some positive ratings if you offered things that could be posted out to people, e.g. personalised gift-wrapped cookies (then perhaps people searching for gifts to give/send to vegans might be tempted?). Also, if you have any food hygiene training it might help to list it somewhere prominent.

Thank you! Once my initial period is up with Ebay, I will list some items that can be posted (cookies, truffles, etc) and try to build a bit of feedback that way.

I would set up a store on Etsy. I always get people in the UK and France contacting me asking if I'd ship to them and because of the amount of time it takes for it to get there and the ridiculous cost I have to tell them no. This leads me to believe theres a big market for that kinda stuff over there. Good Luck!!

Thank you for the advice - I may work on an Etsy shop today, list some post-able items (cookies, truffles, etc) and see what happens!

Hello again PPKers! This is rather a cheeky post, but I shall explain myself and hopefully you will not judge me too harshly! I'm currently looking for 'likers' for my Facebook 'page' representing my vegan baking persona. Though I work full time I've been trying half-heartedly to get some cake-selling on the go for a while now. Recently, a vegan lifestyle/record shop opened in Manchester and I've managed to talk my way into supplying some cakes to them. It's going well so far, so I thought I'd better work on my social networking presence. I would therefore invite you to check out my Facebook and Twitter pages, and only if you feel that you'd like to, give me a follow/like! I will warn you that both will feature many updates regarding cake.....just so's you know :) Thank you in advance to anyone who checks these out :) http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cottage-C ... 0388235219https://twitter.com/cottagecupcakes (this is mostly a feed of FB updates)

I liked you on Facebook, but I notice you don't have anything for sale on the eBay store now?

Thank you! <3 I did list cupcakes on Ebay, but unfortunately had no interest at all, as I can't for the life of me figure out a sensible way to post them :/
I'm not sure Ebay is the best forum for 'collection only' selling :/

I know you posted several weeks ago, but...
You might think of contacting Hannah at Hannah Banana Bakery (she's on Facebook). She has some kind of cupcake-shipping device that might make it feasible for you to branch out to non-collection orders.
I also think you should use Etsy, but only because I've had a lot of good experience with buying from Etsy, and I would never consider ordering fresh(ish) food from eBay. And I would probably buy stuff from you (especially if I don't get a working oven any time soon) if you could ship to Edinburgh. Cookies and bars should be OK - I've had cookies shipped from the US that took nearly 2 weeks, and they were still delicious.

Hey, I'm planning a reopening party for my shop and we're hoping for a carnival theme. What's the best email address for prices etc?

The cupcakes we had for our relaunch were incredible. I didn't even get to try one, but customers kept coming back to say how nice they were! The decorations were perfect too, I'm gutted I didn't get a chance to take a photo.
