I also love this thread, I'd post myself except my makeup consists of argan oil and making sure there are no crumbs or pen marks on my face.

Joining this thread because I've been lurking amongst all the makeup threads for a while now, whilst making my transformation into "that guy who always wears makeup". Now that I have finished with my straight job, I can be as much of a femme-y boy as I want! This is me today: (Sorry for bad photobooth photo!)

Could anyone help a makeup virgin like myself? I honestly don't even know what I look like with makeup on outside of subtle lip tint. I know about some brands, like Urban Decay, but are all elf products vegan? Because they look like they'd be in my price range, especially if I'm just testing the makeup waters. I don't exactly want to spend $20 on something like mascara if I'm not even sure I'll use regularly.

It has a pretty extensive list of vegan products. http://crueltyfreeface.com/ELF is a really good place to start, everything is vegan (except for a few of the brushes) and it's cheap! Good to get some stuff to have a play with. And youtube is great for techniques and tutorials. I especially love the Pixiwoo girls, their videos are great.

Everyday minerals! They're great. I just got some new ones in the mail the other day. This one's a blend of a bronze in pearl, "Comfy", around the edges, and a sort of goldenish light brown ("Hot Chocolate", also a pearl shade) blended with a little of the bronze. I wish they had more pink shades in their catalogue, though (I guess that's the sad thing about so many vegan makeups).

I think a brand like elf will be a good starting place for sure. I've watched some tutorials on Youtube already and sort of know what colors and style I'm looking for. :)

I've watched some tutorials on Youtube already and sort of know what colors and style I'm looking for. :) I use ELF and Wet n Wild but mostly (eye shadow) samples from places like Fyrinnae and Shiro. It's an excellent way to try out colours without going completely broke. I've figured that unfortunately coppertones make me look like death and I have a hard time with golds (aka I guess I'm cool toned). Youtube user Oxford Jasmine did a series with tutorials for different eye shapes. So, yeah. Watch what others do and experiment to find out what works for you.

this is my first makeup post in this thread! Despite my "o so srs" face, I'm really excited about my new purple eye shadow/liner.
