...a tiny self-loathing bit of me does actually want to hear their explanation just to see how they rationalize it, but I anticipate turning away from it in disgust shortly into it.

What does that even mean? It sounds like "Anti-intellectual famous people," but includes writers in there. There are certainly anti-intellectual writers...

Orson Scott Card is on their board. Oh, and Carrie Prejean was one of their spokespeople until they discovered she had done a solo porn video.

Former NOM honcho Maggie Gallagher posted a "meh, no big deal" post from her viper's nest at National Review in response to the memos being released. It was certainly a big enough deal when they went to court to fight Maine's disclosure laws so nobody would find out about them.
