I might be interested... I wonder if I have stash yarn I could use. This would make my mom's next b-day gift easy to figure out!
What yarn are you using kittee? And more importantly, what color?

I have a ton of vintage acrylic in my stash, but I have been recently wooed by a LYS here that has tons of vegan yarn. You go in and pick from all these cool choices, and then they ply it together for you. It's cool! But I was thinking a dark grey or navy blue for this one. xo kittee

well, THAT gauge isn't going to happen..... (don't have the needles for it on hand) but there's really no need for a foot-high owl either!!! the way it's coming it looks to be about half to 2/3 the size.

That sounds fantastic! I remembered that I don't love top-down sweaters and much prefer to do them in pieces. I'm going to look through my stash and at some patterns. Maybe I'll knit the same one with you if I have yarn, or this might have motivated me to knit a different one! I do love how the one you and Maygles picked looks... maybe I'll suck it up and knit top-down.

And I don't mind seaming, I was a sewer way before I was a knitter. I do like being able to try on as I go. I've had one pieced sweater end up way too small (gave it to a cousin) and another that I had to cut the bottom 4" off of to add length in the middle (was faster than reknitting the bottom fair isle pattern).
