That's the explanation! I don't know if it helps you guys, but for me the picture has become a lot less gross with unterstanding that I am not looking at some kind of alien insect infestation.

couroupita, those photos make me so sad! I used to be a terrible cook and when I was about 16 I made the first passable cake I'd ever made (a fancy-pants German apple cake!), and my mum dropped it carrying it across the kitchen. I haven't let her forget it- either has my brother, mainly because he still bursts into hysterical laughter thinking about it.

I have to admit it made my stomach turn. Then I pretended it looked like oatmeal and everything returned to normal.

you people. you're the real heroes here. there is clearly something wrong with all of us. i can't look away.

My favorites (if you can call them 'favorites' they make me wanna gag)

Squash (so scary, zombie squash. I bet if you ate it you would become a zombie)

Poop juice that someone is drinking, and the banana vodka.

the kitchen sink hummus with the 'poop' in it. That one made me L O L for real.

Oh and its not gross, but the penis bread is awesome. you should have taken a picture of you eating it.

Congrats to everyone who posted a pic. It is easy to make meat and cheese look gross, but making VEGAN food look like this is a true accomplishment.

my sister and i ATTEMPTED to make chocolate covered popcorn to give as christmas gifts. while it was delicious, it looked like sloppy poops all over popcorn and never hardened properly.

I cannot for the life of me remember the name of this place, but if I heard it, I'd know it in a second. It was a sports bar in Decorah.

It's overnight oats made with raw oat groats, almond milk, dried coconut, bananas, chia and flax seeds, and cinnamon. It was good, but it turns out that my stomach can't do raw oat groats no matter how long I soak them, so I'll stick to the regular rolled ones. Also, no more photos of them! :)

Okay here`s a recent failure due to some cheap, and I say CHEAP, whole wheat pitas I bought to use for my chilli mix. As I tried to lift my pita from the plate it just... disintegrated. Not only did it not hold together at all but it eventually turned to a gooey mush that was highly unappetizing. I ended up throwing it back into my plate a couple of times, only to try to pick it back up every time and try to eat it because I hate wasting food... But Damn! The picture doesn`t even look as bad as it really was.

Cooooooooooool!!

I had a total pancake fail the other day. Me and my friend were supposed to have breakfast together, and I was going to bake pancakes. She forgot to buy all purpose flour and baking powder, so we were trying to make the recipe work with whole wheat and baking soda. And I decided to add some blueberries. We ended up with the most disturbing blue "batter". (Looked more like smurf cement to us.)

First of all, the smurf cement itself.


Instead of pancakes, we ended up with burned blobs, which refused to dry on top so we couldn't flip them. This was the entire pile of them. In real life it looked even more like a botched liposuction than this pic can convey.

I think the trick wtih blueberry pancakes is to drop the blueberries in halfway through cooking, no?

I just love this thread so much.

I've always mixed them in at the end of mixing the batter and they held together fine, fresh or frozen. Maybe if your blueberries are mushy?
