I want to go do something fun for my birthday, but I am out of ideas.

Busch Gardens, too expensive, mobile carts mostly already gone, not sure I could drive that much in one day now

Poker tournament in WV, mom won't stop freaking out about it being dangerous to go to a casino by myself (don't need permission, of course, but if she is going to be worrying herself sick the whole time, it's not worth it)

So, um, out of ideas and will plan the usually nothing I guess, or just go to a movie or go to Tyson's Saks and buy myself two bottles of nail polish.

Was kind of hoping to not have a depressing birthday as always, but doesn't really seem possible.

Some times, you just have to let moms worry! Mine is convinced that something terrible is going to happen to me every time I take the bus to NYC. I just promise her that I will call and check in twice a day, and then I go. She worries, and warns me to be safe with every phone check-in, but she survives and I have fun.

Oh, I know, but it would really be a wet blanket on me the whole time. She will worry anywhere I go, but she wouldn't say so, which means this really presses her panic button for whatever reason.robably because my parents were held up at gun point when we lived in Vegas.

I love Drew Barrymore's lisp. I can't even explain the thrill that goes through me when I hear her stupid voice. I love it.

It's only April, and the ice cream truck is already driving up and down the street, playing "London Bridge Is Falling Down" at full volume. This is going to be a loooong summer.

Applied for a ticket to go to a special NASA event for teachers at the Discovery exhibit at Dulles. I hope I get one! That would count for a fun birthday outing.

We have reached a tacit agreement. I pile up 3 thick quilts and she doesn't bisque about the living room looking like a bed, even though she wants to.

The troll and the newbie started their post almost the same way. One hating on the ppk and one liking the ppk. It was weird! At least to me, it almost seemed like a practical joke.

Wow, Busch Gardens has almost doubled their ticket prices! Unless it is a lot cheaper in the fall (last two times I went by myself at Halloween).

My mom is so upset at the idea of going to play poker alone that she said she will pay for Busch Gardens, which would be $67 ticket, $45 mobile cart, plus gas, so almost $200. And that is just for me. How the fork do families afford to go? When I was a kid, it was always more than we could afford too except the few times we got special military deals, but many kids I went to school with went all the time (we lived close).

I had no idea it was so expensive now. Lots of my students have already been going to Kings Dominion. Ive never been there. I wonder if they really raised their prices too.

This is a good deal for me, but now I feel manipulated. Also, they probably can't afford it either and wouldn't be offering if my mom weren't upset about the other (would cost me about $75 total; of course I could win something, but I haven't had the opportunity to play for a long time, and I'd be going for fun anyway).

Kings Dominion is only $37, but they have an evil, hostile policy of not allowing people to reserve mobile carts. So, I could drive there, they don't have any, so I turn around and drive back home. Fun. How is this a good, helpful policy for anyone?

If I get the NASA ticket, I'll go do that. My parents said they will pay for me to have dinner somewhere in DC. Maybe Sticky Fingers, not an actual restaurant.

The newbie is legit! It was just funny to me the way the two post came around the same time and started the same. I was waiting for Beiber to be haha I just punked the ppk!

It's 2.40 am, it's raining, and I can't sleep. So I'm sitting around thinking up plans to make sure Buhbah and vijita will always stay together. My current (entirely cruelty-free) version goes like this:
(to neighbours) "Well I've heard that you don't like to feed cute black cats and take care of them, so I've made you these cupcakes decorated with marzipan kitties. They don't need any special looking-after, you just... that reminds me, do you know the best way to eat cupcakes? I learned it from Jorge Garcia. See, you take the top bit off..." (and so on, and so on, while vijita and Buhbah are already miiiiiles away where they'll never find them).

Okay, I was a bit tipsy when I talked about saving Buhbah with cupcakes earlier tonight, so I had to come up with a story that justifies why I would bake cupcakes for terrible people who want to keep cute cats from the people they love... Now I totally think it would work.

I just peed in a bucket in my own bathroom, the vapours almost gassed me.

I'm waiting to hear back about a summer position that would compensate me with free housing. I should know their decision by Friday. So nervous!
