LB, I think you really have to come up here and explore. There are definitely neighborhoods away from a lot of hustle and bustle, but it still sort of depends on what you want to be able to walk to, etc... My old neighborhood was quiet and residential but I could take a 10 minute walk down to a main street with restaurants and shops and pubs and a movie theater so that was nice. My sister lived in a neighborhood in Shoreline (suburb on the north end of Seattle) that was only 3 or 4 long blocks from a major throroughfare, but you wouldn't have known it because her immediate 'hood was all woodsy. There's just a lot of "flavors" of neighborhoods here.

Most homes here don't have a/c. Summer can be sort of all over the place. Usually it's not super hot; average highs for July and August are only like 76. But we definitely can and do have days in the 80s and 90s. Two days at 90, though, and the news would be all a-flutter about The Heat Wave.

We are planning to come up in may. Nate has to travel for work so we are trying to get those dates nailed down so we can book our trip!
