Oh, I hadn't noticed that they finally opened the site for everyone! That's great. Some people have been waiting for such a long time. I'm really curious to see what house my boyfriend gets sorted into as well! The wand & sorting quizzes were my favourite parts.

Well if there's anything that is amazing for kids to be wasting their time on, it's something like this. The world of Harry Potter I think is super healthy for developing minds. It doesn't feel like you're learning... but you really are!

eta: my username is AccioMarauder24647.
And I hate green, and now everything is green.

:(

I got sorted into Gryffindor! That was the last of what I wanted. I really wanted to be in Hufflepuff, Slytherin second, and Ravenclaw and Gryffindor a pretty close 'Blaaaah' but with Ravenclaw even slightly winning out.

Also my wand was okay, Maple with Unicorn. I mean, I like maple trees, they're cool I guess, but it didn't excite me like I wanted.

I deleted my account and I'm starting again! That's just not cool with me!

Sucks though because I also hate lying on quizzes. So I'm going to try and... choose the truth but with a more discerning eye...

Ahahahaha. That's funny. I hope you get the one you want.

I'm waiting for my email! I tried signing up ages ago and never heard back. Round two. I don't care what house I end up in. I bet it'll be Hufflepuff. I'm excited to be sorted into a house so I know where I belong. Also I can't be disappointed.

I'm LumosScarlet1250!

I got sorted into Hufflepuff, which I'm very happy with. It's nice learning more about the one House we don't hear much about.

How has this thing been in beta for so long, and they still only have book 1 done? The only reason I'm really on this site is to see the new material from JK, so even though all the things we learned in that first book are great, I was really expecting more.

Sorry to hear some of you didn't get into the house you wanted/expected! Mars, maybe you'll get different questions this time? sometimes if you're inbetween houses they'll let you choose, too. Good luck!

I added you all, anyway (AsphodelFlame 41)!

Yes! I really enjoyed reading about the common room and everything.

I guess they just needed to make a lot of technical changes to the site? Especially in the beginning the site was constantly down due to high demand. Apart from the recently added sound effects, most of the changes they've made during the beta period haven't really been noticeable. I hope they'll be adding new parts more quickly, but it'll probably be months before Chamber of Secrets comes out...

You know what? I think I'm okay with Slytherin.
We're winning in House Cup points.

I may pull a Mars, 'cause I hate my wand, too. But that seems so childish!
Says someone playing an interactive Harry Potter game.

I could see this game being incredibly upsetting to some children.

How long did it take for you all for your Pottermore confirmation to arrive in your mail box? I registered about an hour ago and haven't received anything so far. Usually, at other websites, it takes like 5 min. max, but I can imagine that it takes longer with Pottermore because there are so many people on it.

What are your experiences regarding this ?

I think you're right, they don't send it instantly. You should get it relatively soon, though. This is what they posted on the Insider:
Pottermore Insider wrote:

There's two separate emails you have to wait for. For my partner his first one took almost a day, mine an hour. This time around it took maybe four hours. The second email for him, a couple hours, for me, half a day-ish.

I'm a Hufflepuff. I wasn't expecting that. But when I read the house description, it actually made sense. I was expecting Ravenclaw, but I'm coming around. My wand is perfect: 10 3/4", larch with phoenix core, and supple.

I'm MarauderFloo31159.

Aww, I do like your wand! According to the description it's basically a puppy:
Ollivander wrote:
Dogwood is one of my own personal favourites, and I have found that matching a dogwood wand with its ideal owner is always entertaining. Dogwood wands are quirky and mischievous; they have playful natures and insist upon partners who can provide them with scope for excitement and fun. It would be quite wrong, however, to deduce from this that dogwood wands are not capable of serious magic when called upon to do so; they have been known to perform outstanding spells under difficult conditions, and when paired with a suitably clever and ingenious witch or wizard, can produce dazzling enchantments. An interesting foible of many dogwood wands is that they refuse to perform non-verbal spells and they are often rather noisy.

I finally signed up this weekend, an was pleasantly surprised that Ravenclaw and my wand (english oak and dragon) both fit me after I read more about them. I had wondered if the few questions they asked would be enough to 'get' someone. Since I'm basically on a speed not much faster than dialup some things aren't working so well for me, like trying out potions and such. Pretty fun site, though, since I like learning the backstory of some of the things. And I recently started re-reading the books again, so perfect timing! (or is it re-re-re-reading?)

Would someone who's in Hufflepuff mind posting the house description here? I have always been convinced that people who like cooking and feeding groups of people belong in Hufflepuff (hello, common room next to the kitchens?) and I want to be proven right so badly.

I cannot argue with any detail of this. I was perfectly sorted and wanded.

I got sorted into Hufflepuff!
Wand: Length: 11 1/4 in ; Wood: Cherry ; Core: Dragon ; Flexibility: Quite Flexible
I didn't know what to expect but I'm pleased.

Our common room rules! :
"A colourful profusion of plants and flowers seem to relish the atmosphere of the Hufflepuff common room: various cactii stand on wooden circular shelves (curved to fit the walls), many of them waving and dancing at passers-by, while copper-bottomed plant holders dangling amid the ceiling cause tendrils of ferns and ivies to brush your hair as you pass under them."

Also, I am god-awful at potions.
