today is $28 (+shipping) for:
3 cake donuts (i'm assuming they're baked? the description says "healthier" so i think that's a fair assumption, and the cinnamon donut says it has 0 grams of fat... ::edit, oh, yeah, i scrolled past the wordy opening description. they're baked.) coconut, cinammon-sugar, and chocolate
1 brownie
4 coconut macaroons
4 chocolate chip cookies.

it says retail price is $40.50 i guess that's NYC pricing for ya. wow!

i got the that's it bars today. they're really good! (although i only tried the cherry, but i expect the others to be good, too.) i hope these guys expand and get into grocery stores all over the place. they're softer than fruit leather, and they have teeny tiny apple bits.

the lulu's were better this time than last time. maybe time has just hardened the older bars, or maybe there was too much sugar or what, but the new batch was softer and had fewer strange undertones, and the ingredients just said "cocoa" and not "ecuadorian cocoa" and instead of "coconut palm sugar" it now says "coconut secret coconut crystals"
the lighter bars (chocolate maca chunk [62% cocoa] & maca love [50% cocoa]) are still weird, but not as gag-inducing as the older recipe. the darker the bar, the better. the aztec crunch [plain 75% with cacao nibs] and raw love [plain old plain old 78%] (and to a lesser degree, the sedona spice [cinnamon, ancho chili, black pepper 75%]) are my favorites.

the vegan divas stuff was rather blah. definitely not worth the $32 bucks. the donuts were sweating and stcking to each other. (they packed all 3 together in one bag, so i couldn't distinguish one from the other. the cookies and brownie were okay. the macaroons were not very good. (and i got only 3 macaroons, and i think 3 cookies, too)

then there was a deal for kyotofu brownies (very dry and overly alkaline, and not sweet enough.)
and chocalive raw truffles. (these were actually really good. the slight fruitiness didn't distract from the chocolate all that much)

which brings us to today's deal.
$20 (+5 shipping) for 1 pack of dandies marshmallows, 2 hard cheeses (cheddar & mozz), 1 jar of nacho sauce & 1 box of mac & cheez from Chicago Soydairy (aka chicago vegan foods) ($31 val.)
not a super great deal, but if it's hard to find where you live, it's worth it. teese is really tasty, and dandies are great (but store them somewhere cool, or else they gel into a big giant mass. unless they've been re-reformulated.)

I recently got the Flour City Pasta offer and the Chicago Vegan Foods edible americana.

So far I tried the lemon garlic orzo pasta and it was very tasty. I'm excited to try all the other flavors that came with it.

Last night I had the mac and cheeze sauce teese. I feel really bad for chicago soy foods. I think one of them used to post here and I want to like their products so bad but the teese mac and cheeze was just nowhere near as good as amy's frozen or daiya sauce made at home. It wasn't exactly bad, it just wasn't good either. I bet daiya is putting their cheeze out of business. Well at least they have dandies, which are awesome! And I already know I still like the mozarella teese.

I got the Teese order, too. I haven't tried Teese since it first came out. I don't see it sold in my area.

I actually like the Mac and Teese, but I hate Daiya (except for this one time I had it at a restaurant and have not been able to recreate). It is very reminiscent of Kraft mac. It's not something I would buy on the regular because I do really love the VegNews mac (minus most of the EB so it's actually moderately healthy).

i got my box of teese yesterday, but hadn't tried any of them. (i hadn't had teese at home since they first started making it, and i think i remember there was a reformulation. in fact, the dandies look reformulated too. re-reformulated? they reformulated in 2009, and these look a little different from even those.) i had teese on pizza in seattle around 2009, it didn't melt, and got rather hard. i hope it was just the pizzeria's lack of skill.

today's deal honestly doesn't look all that great. (unless of course the caramels are out of this world, but the amount in the package looks teenytiny)
$22.50 + $5 shipping for an Obsessive Confection Disorder vegan caramel + shortbread package (GF / xgfx) http://spencersmarket.com/offers/show-m ... rer=jgbn9t

i ordered the kaia foods sprouted flavored seeds, and i don't like them. they kinda make me nauseous. i think it's the scent. they have a distinctive scent that is unappealing to me. i am assuming this might be the case with all sprouted seeds for me.

the hail merry page doesn't indicate that any of the seeds are sprouted. do you know if they are?

I do not think they are sprouted, I do not have the package though. The taste is not a sprouted raw taste though if you are worried!

Rawtella sounds interesting but it's awfully expensive, even with the discount. Has anyone tried this before?

I was just about to come ask this. Even with the deal it's $10.49 and doesn't seem that great of a "deal"

add shipping, and it's $15! definitely not worth it. especially for only 6 oz. (and i hadn't even tasted it.)

Soy Curls!
Three (3) 8oz bags of Soy Curls! $9.99+shipping

https://spencersmarket.com/offers/meatl ... rer=um70w2
(Fyi, that is a referral link)

I haven't seen anything to tempt me but that is a pretty good price! Especially if you can't get them locally.

Actually, I just answered my own question. Vegan Essentials is the cheapest, and 3 bags, + shipping and tax where I live is $21.50 vs $14.95 at Spencers.

I guess my real question is: do i need 3 bags of soy curls? I have no experience with them. Do they have a long expire date?

An 8 oz bag of Soy curls retails for about $4.80. It is like TVP but better. Makes GREAT chicken salad. I think soy curls are most like chicken but since tvp can be flavored any way, these can be as well. I've just mostly used them for chicken-like dishes.

If you like TVP, then you will probably like soy curls. And like TVP, an 8 oz bag expands as its dehydrated. So with shipping, you are getting approximately the retail price if you had them locally. If you were buying + shipping, this is a cheaper deal.

Oh and the first time I bought soy curls, I bought them in bulk and kept them in my fridge for a year. I think the recommendation is fridge or freezer but they weren't sealed. These are sealed. But then again, I have TVP stored for just as long in my pantry.

That is odd, today's offer is soy curls so you should've had soy curls. So you signed up, went to the link and got popcorn?

you can click linanil's link again to get to the soy curls. (make sure you have only the vegan option selected in your preferences. you might have to unselect some other options. if you have soy-free selected, they won't show you this deal.)

They did have some chemical free vegan popcorn earlier this week. I accidentally bought it. Twice. But soycurls are today's option.
