Has anyone watched it? The pilot is on HBO's website (free).

I've heard a lot of conflicting reviews about it, but I think I'll keep watching if it's available online. I could see why it's billed as a comedy, but I didn't laugh once - seemed more like a witty drama to me. The writing is good!

I only watched it because I went to the same college as Lena Dunham and it's fun to see famous people come out of there. I agree with your assessment and it'll be interesting to see how it progresses. I'll keep watching. I hope she gets rid of that Adam dude!

I liked it. I think the people who hated it didn't get that you're not supposed to really like the main characters. They're pretty terrible, but I like shows about awful people.

I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. Will watch the next episode to give it another go.

Yeah, totally. I keep reading articles that say things like, "Ugh, they're all RICH and WHITE!" I think they're completely missing the point with the idea of this show. I know people like the people in this show. This isn't trying to be Sex and the City, folks.

I'm interested to see where they go with the characters. The episode had a lot of set-up, but not a lot of payoff. I don't mind, though. I like shows that have that slow burn effect. It has potential.

I went to watch it on HBO, and it said it wasn't available in my region. I live in New York... oh, the irony! I had to watch it on Youtube.
I found it kind of depressing, I know the characters aren't necessarily supposed to be likable... but the show in general bummed me out. I'll probably watch the other one they're putting up, but I doubt I'll seek it out after that.

The acting was really bad, every girl had that blank glassy eyed look. Also I think the show is trying too hard to be some sort of statement and all you have is a bunch of bland characters.

I'm really liking what I've seen out of the first two episodes so far. While I wasn't necessarily expecting to get lot of laughs, I found myself getting some good chuckles.

I mean, you get to hear Mrs. Weir from Freaks and Geeks drop the F bomb ha. I'm definitely looking forward to more.

I really liked the pilot. Enough to watch the rest of them when they get to Netflix or itunes.

I hate the actor/carpenter so much!!

which is to say, I find this show believable and somewhat enjoyable...but after seeing the pilot and reading about the opening scenes of the second, won't go out of my way to watch more.

I have the silliest, most shallow reason for hating this show. The one with the cousin reminds me so much of someone I really can't stand. And she even acts like a different version of her...so I just get irrationally angry at her. Maybe if the show were better I would focus on that instead.

I was all set to hate this show but after watching the first two eps I don't totally despise it. I don't care much for Hannah, but I like the character Jessa so far. Overall I find it pretty sympathetic to women, I'm curious to see where it goes.

I'm reallly really loving this show, but it kinda seems like I'm the only one. I hope it doesn't get cancelled!

I like it! I thought the 2nd episode was funny. I had never heard of Lena Dunham before and was curious so I read a few articles and watched her feature "Tiny Furniture." She seems like a real character in real-life.

yeah, i'm enjoying it. i like that adam is there. he provides some great tension for hanna.

i was all set to hate "tiny furniture" but didn't. i think i would probably be BFF with lena dunham if we went to college together.

LOVE IT!!

Nice to see HBO getting gritty with their shows again. I really miss the show Tell Me You Love Me and this has the same type of feeling accept not as serious. It also reminds me a lot of the new show on MTV I Just Want My Pants Back. But this is much more adult of course since it's on HBO.

Agreed. If this is what the "women" of the future are going to be like, I'm trading my vagina in for a bazooka (and then turning it on myself). I stopped on it while channel-surfing because so many people are talking about it, and managed about 6 minutes before I had to snap it off.

I've been watching that too but I find Jay so whiny, she took your pants, move on! ;)

the third episode kind of decided it for me, I really disliked that episode for some reason. It seemed so ridiculous, more so than the first two. The characters were especially whiny and unrealistic, I just couldn't find anything to redeem it. So I think I'll give up on this show now.
