a trader joes and whole foods are coming to wolf road. i think both will be in the colonie center area.

a healthy living (like whole foods) is coming to the wilton mall in saratoga. also in saratoga, there's a mostly vegan buffet at four season hfs, vegan ice cream options at johnny's italian ice, and vegan options (including a reuben) at elizabeth's table. also up here, a place just opened in ballston spa called iron roost, and i've heard they have a vegan waffle option.

I'm going to be visiting Albany weekly starting this fall (working on my PhD at UA)! If any of you know someone with a couch I can surf one night a week that'd be awesome.

Wow, so nobody has posted here in TWO years!?!

Anyway - I am bringing the squeeze to town with me on Monday. I need suggestions please in Albany (near UAlbany) or Schenectady where we could grab some dinner. When I'm in town I usually end up getting Chipotle or stuff from TJ's to eat in my hotel room, but this one time I'll actually have a dining companion.

Mexican Radio just opened a branch in Schenectady. They're r new and still working out the kinks (they messed up my SOs order.)But they have excellent vegan options.

Ooh, that looks awesome! I was thinking of Bombers, but that looks even better and more date appropriate.

I second Mexican Radio. WAY better than Bombers. If you want to stick closer to Albany though, the coop does a Meatless Monday on the hot bar and has a nice seating area.

I think if we can get into town early enough we might go to the coop for lunch since it's fairly close to campus. (I'm just driving in to take a final.)

I haven't been to the Schenectady location yet but have been to the Hudson one many times. excellent chips and margheritas

I heard that new location is not that great. I know it takes time to work out the hiccups so maybe I'll wait a bit?
But it sounds like you guys ^ did just fine. horray for more vegan options
