You've been busy! They're all awesome, but I especially love the Twin Peaks one.

Funny thing, I picked sanskrit mostly because of the harshness :). The picture is a little blurry, but oh well. I'm in the process of deciding what I want for a 3/4 sleeve too. Who knows how long it will take me to decide that, though.

So many awesome tattoos! Any recommendations for awesome vegan-friendly shops or artists in Illinois? Kankakee County preferably.

I'm excited to get tattooed again and it's not happening until early May. I'm getting broccoli on my lower leg! T. is getting a cup of coffee.

I have an idea for a tattoo that I will not be able to afford for a while but I would love to get a little tiny dinosaur tattoo (I loved dinosaurs when I was little, like, obsessively) while I am saving up for that. I don't know what exactly I want but I am thinking ankle or wrist. Not sure what design I want yet, though.

I have crazy plans about tattooing vegetables and fruit on my back. But I'm not getting anything done till it's exactly clear in my head. My previous tattoo had 2 years of marinating to go before I did it. But yay, veggies. It makes total sense for someone who loves cooking as much as I do. And the colours of veggies and fruit are so beautiful. Some red apples, purple aubergine, green courgette etc.

So my friend (who is a tattoo artist) is working on my tattoo design. It involves a dinosaur and a cupcake.

Hey guys I am doing a tattoo-vegan article over at thisdishisveg.com. I am looking to interview a few people who have multiple tattoos. The questions are brief and if you have pictures of your ink that is a bonus. PM me right away so I can send you some questions! :)

My tattooist housemate just did this gorgeous piece on me! I designed it a while back, but we only just got around to actually putting it on me. The hair and tentacles are gonna get thickened up a bit, but otherwise this is basically it. I'm so so happy with it. I'm hoping to get a bit of a sea/water theme happening on my thighs, to go with my little stick-and-poke boat. Planning a nautilus, and platypus on my other thigh at some point in the future.

Wow, Erika, those pieces are all very dope. Definitely feeling all the others I've seen as well. Just got this earlier this month with a second session scheduled in a few weeks.

So tattoo ink isn't vegan, is it? I mean regular tattoo ink that the majority of artists use?

Yes, fortunately there are lots of tattoo artists who use vegan inks and are proud to advertise the fact. I'm pretty sure it would be painless to find an artist who uses vegan inks in almost any area these days.

New tattoo fun! I will write a more in depth reflection about it soon....but basically: I lived on a boat and it's a symbol for suicide prevention. Sometimes we all need a life preserver :)

Rowan, that's awesome!! :) I have a symbol of the Appalachian Trail on my wrist that I got at the beginning of the year to commemorate my thru-hike in 2010. I'm thinking about my next tattoo. I think I want it to be some kind of image or text that reminds how strong I am for working through my anxiety and emotional eating issues. But I'm not sure what I want it be yet. A friend mentioned Serenity (as in Firefly & Serenity) and that resonated with me since I'm a really big firefly fan and the meaning of the word is also important.
