There was a cranky lady on the subway who snapped at a group of kids who were on a field trip for talking. What the fork, lady? The world isn't going to cater to your every stupid wish. If you want silence, don't live in the city!
I guess this isn't really a pet peeve since it was a pretty isolated incident, but it pissed me off regardless. I gave her a glare and returned to my book.

People driving around at dusk with their parking lights on. It's getting dark, every single other person on the road has their headlights on, put your headlights on! I don't understand why people are hesitant to do it. Ohh... not quite headlight time just yet, better ease into it.

What's your biggest peeve right now? Oh my god I have to go to other floors to use the bathroom at work bc of this EXACT same thing! It enrages me. I have choked on the Lysol air way too many times.

I have another pet peeve... when people stand RIGHT behind me if I'm in line for something (or being helped at a bank, for example) and I turn around to leave and run into that person. So. forking. annoying.

Haha I hate people who stand too close behind me so much. A few years ago I started adopting a (physical) stance that really obviously shouted "MOVE!" to these people. I stand with my feet really far apart, like half-way between feet together and total lunge, and I lean on the front foot so my body is away from the annoying person but they can't move any closer bc MY FOOT'S THERE. JUST TRY TO COME CLOSER, bisque. I have fun in lines.

My friend has really long fake nails and works in the city, so she rides a high-rise elevator often. She stands in the elevator with her pointer fingers sticking out so people don't invade her personal space or they get poked with her nails.

When people rush into the elevator before the people in it have exited. Who are you? Why would you even do such a thing? I mean, I know sometimes you just get excited and you go for it, but once you see the people, you need to stop...maybe even take a step back. Rushing in and avoiding eye contact has not helped you save face.
My job involves a lot of daily elevator use so I have a lot of elevator peeves.

I didn't read through all 7 pages so these might have been already said.
People who spit on the sidewalk.
People who throw cigarette butts out of their car window.

I just found out, my pet peave with mouth sounds has gone so far that I could not watch Julie and Julia because of the noises they made while eating.
Hope I didn't miss much.

Oh, I know that, my mom taught us these things and I have taught my kids. What I had done was rest the fork on the side of the plate while I was chewing. Maybe she deserves some points for attentiveness but I think she was peeved that I was taking so long to eat.

People who let their forking dogs run loose where there are roads and cars driving. (I almost hit the same dog 3 TIMES THIS WEEK! Owner just laughed it off and blamed the dog. forking douchepocket.)
People who are always late and say "oh, that's just the way I am."
People who have an excuse for everything. Not a reason, but an excuse.

Another bus one: when people get on the back door of the bus then charge up the aisle to the front of the bus to find a seat, getting in the way of the stream of people who got on the front door of the bus and are moving down the aisle because it's the only way they have to go. Maybe it's only a problem here because we have a free-ride area downtown so you can get on either door, but seriously people, if you want to sit in the front of the bus get on the damn front door and if you get on the back door, sit in the back of the bus. There's no reason why one rude person should be barging through a bunch of people who are just trying to sit down.

People who do not clean up after their dog. There is nothing like the smell of dog poop being grilled on a hot summer day sidewalk.

One of my flatmates has the annoying habit of taking my DVDs out of the player and then putting them of the floor. When the box is laying right next to the TV.

Ok, I have a few car pet peeves from the last two hours of picking up my car. And yes, all of these things happened today.
People who drive in the rain without their lights on. People who drive in the left lane, while people are forced to pass them on the right because they are going so forking slow. People who try to pass you on the on-ramp. (WHY???) People who pass you, pull in front of you, then show down or slam on their brakes for no apparent forking reason. People who pull into the pass lane then drive even with the car in the right lane, preventing anyone else from passing.

I have refrained from posting in this thread as I cannot narrow the peeve-ness down. I'm just an angry dick, and I've made my peace with it. Except not really as I perpetually have steam coming out my ears at all the stupid shiitake people do. tootie-patooties!
