I need sewing help! I keep making really cute stuff and then when I sew it up it looks like crepe. Or at least a lot of cute parts Frankensteined together!

I need a cool, possibly rainy day - so I can knit the last 2 inches of my sweater! (And maybe get some writing done.)
It's so hot, everything feels kind of sticky. I can't hold my needles (let alone cotton yarn)!!

I made another one! (For my mum, for mother's day) Material is from curtains my cousin made for my last apartment, but were too short for the current place.

Nice, maygles. I know someone who'd love to have one of those, I'll suggest that book to her.

I can't seem to find a certain needle size, I KNOW I have them! Now I can't finish this friggin' cardigan, AAAAAHHHH.

I went nuts with the sewing this weekend! Which is nice because I haven't had any time to craft like all week.

Reversible bag! Made with fabric and cotton webbing I got in a big yard sale bargain yesterday ($3 for a ton of fabric), and leftovers from a project I made for my sister.

Thanks, maygles. I'm wearing it at work right now, and it's soooo comfy I never want to take it off. It also looks great with jeans.

Super happy. So glad I tried knitting top-down pullovers.

(ETA: Sorry about picture size - my good camera is back.)

No problem. Do it! The pattern is super easy, and the yarn (if you can get it, or something like it) feels sooooo nice.

I finished my bandana scarf!

Image

This is the first thing I've knitted in years, and the first thing more complicated than a straight scarf so I'm super excited!

Next up is this scarf for my mum for her birthday in a month, then a baby blanket for some friends (they're only like thirteen weeks pregnant so I've got some time).

Brioche stitch cowl update! Started! Would post photo if I hadn't left my camera in NY, but it's this in similar colors (but different yellow because I couldn't find a bright enough vegan one).

Anyway, the fabric from brioche stitch is awesome and thick and bouncy but dang this stuff takes *for*ever to knit. I've been sitting here for four hours and I think I've knit like two inches (of 10).

Awesome, maygles! Love that collar. You're super talented. And you always have such great patterned fabrics!

I've been doing more Ph.D. procrastination knitting. Finished another short sleeved pullover (of which I still have to take pics), and now I'm knitting a yellow baby cardigan with blue borders and a dinosaur on the front. My friend's baby is going to be the best dressed baby around.

You guys, I have a question. I've been looking for something to transport my work-in-progress in. My intuition tells me that there must be such a thing as a 'knitting bag'. Something that is a bag-within-a-bag, that protects your needles from bending and your work in progress from getting nasty from the other contents in your bag. (Leaky pens, food.) I'm carrying around my crochet in a tote within my big bag at the moment and it's not satisfactory.

Suggestions? (I'd love something nice and vintage or Etsy made.)
