I'm working on a new all-purpose cookbook that will be out in Fall 2013. I can tell you that it will be hardcover and have plenty of pictures, so I'm very excited about that! Most of the meals will be weeknight-friendly (either with a lot of downtime, or reasonable cooking times) and mostly pantry-friendly. With that said...
Since the beginning of time, I've asked y'all what you would like to see in my cookbooks and you haven't failed me yet. So I ask unto you...are there any recipes/methods/info that you would love to see in this one? The suggestion box is open! I think this will be my best cookbook yet. Thanks, guys! xo

I love AFR so much for a million reasons but the thing I probably like the most is that there are vegetables in almost every dish, I'd love for the new book to have lots and lot of vegetable recipes and ideas. Especially for cheap vegegables you can always find at the super market (cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, and spinach) and farmer's market greens.
I also really like the bowls and the salads from that book and would love even more but maybe with simpler recipes with tons of add-ons. Like the everyday chickpea salad is super accesible because I always have everything to make it and then I can add other stuff if I have it. Other salads I don't make as much because I don't want to leave anything out which is silly I know, but it's true.
And something with castlevetrano olives!

I would love to see a slow cooker or pressure cooker section (or, where applicable, instructions on adapting recipes for slow cookers or pressure cookers).

A chart of approximate cooking times for the beans in the recipes for pressure- and slow cookers would be handy, I think. Even though it's going to be pretty obvious for experienced cooks, a note saying "Hey, you can throw a whole bag of dried chickpeas in the pot and portion them out into freezer bags so you don't need to spend extra money on canned ones or extra time cooking individual batches." might help some people.

i always fall back on tomatoey meals, and i think my stomach hates me for it. (i'm pretty sure i've developed reflux)
so, easy low-acid weeknight meals would be fanTASTIC!

And something with castlevetrano olives! This. I adore AFR and it is by far my favourite and most used and food stained cookbook! I think it is because the recipes are so adaptable and pantry friendly. However you already said that will be the case in the new book, so ... One pot meals! Tofu recipes! You can never have enough of these. Easy to throw together sauces and dressings. Wintery comfort foods like stews.

:) Hi Isa! (sigh, Fall 2013, so far away!).
It would really be nice to have a section on "Pantry Staples"
e.g.: ketchups, vegan worcherstershire sauces, spice blends for "beef" stock, "chicken" stock etc etc. (maybe this is in V'Con. my copy is at home).
Lots of "Worldly" recipes. (Asian Inspired, Hawaiian Inspired, Wherever You Wanna Go Inspired!)
One Pot meals I third the suggestion slow cookers. (or how to replicate slow cooker/pressure cookers (this I do not have)) recipes. Sandwiches/Wraps/Burritos! Ice Cream! (I got an Ice Cream Maker for a grad-gift and would love to play w/it more!) Skillet Recipes (i have one now :) wanna play with it too)
and whatever else comes to that awesome amazing mind of yours. I really just imagine this being AFR meets V'Con :)

Oho and I almost forgot. Tonnes, and tonnes of hummus recipes. Love the hummus.
and maybe some "chip" recipes, and some breadish stuff?

Easy lunch ideas would be great! The kind of thing I can whip up in a short amount of time, that travels well, and doesn't need to be refrigerated or reheated. Any and all manners of pasta/potato/chick'n/tofu-egg salad type things would be awesome.
And I'm always craving Thai and Indian inspired stuff, like the red thai tofu and potato spinach curry from AFR. The easier, the better.

A great table of super-easy substitutes! For those moments where you don't have that one ingredient handy...

I'd love to see a "repurposed leftovers" section, where one meal (say, a red curry) makes enough to repurpose it for lunch the next day (red curry turns into a Thai wrap! Magic!). Recipes on facing pages. This way I can knock out dinner and lunch at the same time.

Cannolis!!! Different fillings and a super easy shell.
A dessert section with any sweets would be great but some things that jump to mind are "cheese" danish, donuts, pain au chocolate, coffee/crumb cakes (love the ones in VB and can never have too many of those recipes)
Recipes with a special theme, like holiday/seasonal celebrations, picnics, movie night, earth day, valentine's....
"Not-meat" loaf recipes, something you could have for dinner one night and then slice up leftovers for sandwiches the next day.

I would love some healthy-ish sweets recipes. Like we take muffins and breads in the morning for breakfast but it's hard to find ones that are still tasty while being lower sugar, fat, and high fiber. And desserts we could eat on weeknights that aren't as caloric....maybe something fruity? I dont know what to do and we love sweet stuff!
Oh and I love the crock pot suggestion! That would be awesome. I hate cooking when I come home from work.

Also, tempeh! It seems a lot of vegan cookbooks have tons of tofu recipes but just one or two tempeh recipes. I'd love more ideas about what to do with tempeh.
