Plum on May 12th? Damn, didn't know about that and I'm sure I walked right by Plum a few times that day. I live nearby. I need to check this forum more. For I am but a mere tofu pup.
When's next meet-up? I'd love to meet more people in this city, vegans would be a +. I've been living here for a month now so I'm just getting my new social life warmed up ^_^

My friend might be interested in your bike! She lives in Bellingham but her boyfriend is in Seattle.......I'll send her the link.

Hey guys, we are visiting something like June 30-July 5. I know we keep going back and forth about this, but this will be the trip that kind of makes us decide if we should take the plunge and move to Seattle. That being said, where should we go? Are there really awesome things that we should see? I like to eat, farmers markets, parks, shopping, and hikes.
I will probably go back through and read this whole thread to get some ideas, but I would also love to hear some things you guys love.
I would also loveto meet some of you guys, I have met footface and glue gun once before in dc, but if any of you want to hang out, let me know!
I would especially love to know of family friendly things, like if you know of mothers groups, family parks or even websites with family activities listed, that would be great!

See the restaurant thread for eats, for sure. You'll have to visit Pike Place Market, of course. The Ballard Locks are a nice place to waste a sunny afternoon, people-watching, boat-watching, picnicking, etc... if you go on a Sunday you can hit the Ballard farmers market first (or after, I guess.) Discovery Park is really pretty and has a couple of nice hiking/running trail loops. The lower/longer one goes down to the beach, but there are some lovely Puget Sound views from the upper/shorter (2.8 miles) one as well. Sometimes you get lucky and see bald eagles. There are a ton of other parks, too. Green Lake has a paved 2.8 mile trail around the lake. It gets crowded on a nice day with runners, walkers, strollers, roller bladers, kayakers, rowers, swimmers, fishers, sunbathers, etc... but it's sort of a slice of Seattle, I guess. Then there's all the typical tourist stuff like Pioneer Square and Seattle Center (the view from the Space Needle on a clear day is great and all, but it's spendy to go up there.) If you like to be out on the water, taking the ferry to Bainbridge Island is an inexpensive way to do it. There's (apparently, I've never been there!) a vegetarian restaurant on the island side of the run. I don't know about family stuff per se, but Footie might be able to point you in the right direction. We'll definitely need to have a meet up while you guys are here; we like to eat too!
