Not from impressive exercise regiments like you guys, but I have done a lot of heavy lifting in the past two weeks (moving, my job) and my measly arm muscles don't understand it!

Naturally, I decided to spend my post-race rest day doing 3.5 hours of yard work. Everything is going to hurt tomorrow.

I started exercising again yesterday after a 6 month break. My thighs, bottom and upper arms all ache.

in a training camp for a fight at the moment... have sore muscles everywhere, bruised cheek from a head kick I failed to block, black eye from my boyfriend accidentally smashing a thai pad into it. Shins look like tie dye and have glove and rope rash all over my back from grappling. Ah well, all worth it :)

I ache in several places today, however the most noteworthy are the muscles beneath where my underwires sit. It's never happened to me before. I have no idea how she made me reach those muscles!

I'm more sore from climbing than I have been in a while. My hands are shredded. And I think all my muscles hurt. I'm loving some of the new routes they put up at the gym, they really work the less-used climbing muscles! And I'm proud of myself for climbing so hard for two days in a row, but now I want a hot bath and a massage! Neither of which will happen (no tub and my guy isn't here tonight).

Oh, those walking lunges from yesterday are making themselves known today.

We did jumping lunges last night. By the end of 30 seconds I wanted to cry.

Those sound fascinating! I usually hurt from walking lunges even without weights and he has me carry like, 15 lb weights or something while lunging.
Still sore, but the foam rolling helps.

I've been easing back into strength training and added two new leg exercises yesterday. Ow! Ow! Ow!

I fell on my bike today (in a skills clinic... umm...) The base of my hand is bruised and the point of my seat jabbed into my ladybits. I haven't looked yet, but I'm sure there's bruising there too. And I have a long ride on my schedule tomorrow.

Went running yesterday, for the first time in far too long, and today my legs hurt. Going down stairs is difficult.

Pretty much everything hurts. I logged about 7 hours on the bike this weekend and my neck and shoulders are so stiff. My left shoulder and hip are sore from the fall. My knee and hand and crotch are bruised (technically, it's leg, but it's a big ol' vag-adjacent bruise and it's not a nice thing.) My quads are tired and my calves need stretching. Oh, and the ball of my left foot hurts... that's from my run today I guess. I'm a mess.

I collected blisters, sore muscles, bruises, scrapes, and sore fingertips this weekend from walking for miles as a zombie (blisters under my heels), learning to lead climb (massive bruises and some scrapes), and playing my bass for hours (fingertips). I feel good knowing that I was active, but I wish I could go for a jog or do something to loosen everything up instead of being stuck at a desk.

Ugh, just in time to go to Hawaii and wear tank tops and bathing suits, I have a scrape on my chest that's surely going to bruise. I was passing a family on my bike and the second there were cyclists coming in the opposite direction, one of the little kids veered into my path and one of the cyclists coming the other way reacted by veering into my path. I was going really slow at that point, but they boxed me in and my attempt to not run into either of them resulted in me using a fence to assist my stop (or something like that... it happened fast. I don't even know what I hit my chest on... the fence? my handle bars? Who the hell knows.

My neck, upper back and shoulders are so sore it's giving me a headache. I think it's from my pushups regimen? Anyone got some good stretches for those areas? I'm also thinking I need to be doing something for the "pulling" muscles to balance the muscle I'm building, but I'm way too weak to be doing pullups. Any ideas that don't involve a gym?

Yesterday I did the Zumba "Ripped" program for the first time - and I can feel my back muscles! Which is technically a good thing, since now I know that I can strengthen them and finally do something good for my back.

Here's a 5-step progression to a full pull-up. (It's a playlist, by the way, so each step is in a separate video).

ugh 1 week out from competition and I'm at that falling apart stage... old knee injury back to haunt me, which is making my running hard to complete. Have a case of tennis elbow too after holding pads for heavyweights, and got knee'd good and proper in the vag last night, right on the bone. I guess it's Karma for all the boys I've accidentally kneed/kicked in the balls over the years... Just gotta push through, only one more week of hard training left!

My sit bones hurt from starting to bike again. I'm adding all the padding I can take without basically strapping a pillow to my saddle.

My calves hurt after running yesterday. Considering it was my second run ever though I'm a lot less sore than I anticipated.

I ran to exhaustian yesterday afternoon. Then in the evening I had a date which went, um, really well. At the end of the night when it was time to go home it was pouring rain and I forgot my umbrella so I ran the whole way (From Jarvis to Spadina, if you know Toronto).

This morning I am sooooooore.

Hey, Tea. You can totally disregard these comments since they are totally unsolicited, but I'm not sure that running to exhaustion is the best way to start a beginners running routine. If you are very sore, I think you are overdoing it. Many new runners do too much too soon, and end up injuring themselves, or become frustrated, quit and hate running.

You have lots of time to train in a more focused way, after you build some base mileage that gets your body and cardiovascular system use to running. Right now, I would just focus on slower, deliberate runs of about 20-30mins, slow enough that you could carry on a conversation without gasping.

It might seem like you can go faster/farther but really, trust me, slow and steady is best when you are beginning. Like I said, once you have a base, you can open up your training if you want to focus on speed or distance.

Just my 2 cents. Good luck with your runs.
