It's so unseasonably bloody chilly here I had to put the central heating back on. Bored bored bored of the dreich, grey, drizzly excuse for a spring we've had this year.

So perfect here. 74 degrees, no humidity, slight breeze. Ridiculously awesome.

Why is it so cold? We're nearing the end of May but it was 14.5 degrees in my room for most of the day, until the heating came on for two hours in the evening.
I would complain if it was too hot, but this is supposed to be the best, sunniest part of the year. It keeps raining more than I remember it ever raining in the three years I've been here.

It's lovely here. I was expecting a thunderstorm but the birds are still tweeting away in the sunshine.

I am really bummed out about how crappy the weather just got. I should've spent some time outside this morning!

its London and its not stopped raining since March... I missed the only decent summery week (which happened to be my bday and I know its always nice that week but older age makes me want to leave the country then despite knowing its the only good week in may) its raining, its still raining and from what I hear its going to rain for a long time. When are the british going to accept nice happy summers of our (70's/80's/90's) childhood summers never going to happen again? jeeze what are the kids of today going to remember their summers by? :(
I was actually looking for the drunk thread, and I wandered into here. sorry.

It's so humid! I may be forced to turn on the A/C although I'm proud of how little I've used it yet this year. It's supposed to be hot tomorrow. I'm not used to this! I've lived in the desert/high desert for the last 20 years! Now I'm in the South.
Boober, I tried to get a job in Portland. I think I'm glad it didn't work out, but you definitely have my sympathy and respect!

It stopped raining! After days and days and days! I have my window open to air my room, have my bedding in the washing machine and will hang it up outside when it's clean and soon I'm going to wash the kitchen and bathroom floors and open the windows to let them dry!

It's raining and muggy. Not complaining as it means slow times at work today.

Its 91 F here today, tommorrow and the next are supposed to get to 97 F. I just got back from North Carolina where it was much cooler than here since there were mountains, but it seems that up farther north here it shouldn't be so hot. At least I don't have a/c so I wont be tempted to turn it on, ha.

High of 113 today. And it's only gonna get hotter as we get deeper into summer. Thunder storms (is it monsoon yet?) are in the forecast this weekend, but our weathermen never accurately predict storms. They say it's because we live in a valley so it's hard to predict. I say they just like playing with my emotions.

I am dying. It's hot and horribly humid. We had to drag out all the air conditioners at the shelter. If they're working, then the kennel cools down about 10 degrees, which is still really forking hot, but at least not at the "oh my god, we're all going to die from heatstroke" level. Unfortunately, the electrical system in the building is crepe, and it can't handle 4 a/c units going at once. So it's 10 minutes of cooling, power goes out. Someone goes and flips the circuit breaker. 10 more minutes of cool, power goes out again. It really really sucks.

It is so nice in Portland! I'm sitting out on the front porch drinking coffee and working, and every once in a while I rouse myself and meander down to the cherry tree and pick myself a handful. Sunny, high in the upper seventies, currently in the low sixties. Heaven.

And it's only getting worse. The air is thick!

I suppose I shouldn't complain because the forecast for today was 105F, but it's only (only!) about 90. Ugh.

It's summer in San Francisco, which means it's chilly, windy, and foggy as hell. Sigh.

It is 103 here. It was just as hot yesterday, and will be tomorrow. Temperature is supposed to hover around 100 at least until Tuesday, and storms are predicted for Monday & Tuesday. I am somewhat worried about power going out at some point. We have been pretty close to breaking all-time temperature records for a couple days now.
I'm at work, and it is a ghost town in this area. Usually, there are at least some hardy hookers wandering the streets, but nobody is out in this.
What's really crazy are the temperature swings between night and day. It's 150 degrees during the day, then the late evenings & early mornings are in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
ETA: My phone weather app hadn't updated. It was 103, now it is 106. "Feels like" 111.

And summer in the Pacific Northwest is off to a fine start, with one very warm day that I can remember, and cloudy, generally warm days with light showers. I'm ok with it. I get to keep making soup, which is my favorite food and I don't usually feel like making when it gets warmer than 70 degrees. My family all live in IL and I don't envy them their 90 to 100 degree summer days. I remember waking up in the summer because it was too hot to breathe before I left that state.
