I have a sample of babelube but haven't used it. Just don't go for the Naked lube from babeland; it forking stinks (like, literally, it smells gross.) I tried it out because it's in a pump dispenser which seems all nice and convenient, but I think I'm going to wash the stinking mess down the drain and refill the pump bottle with something not gross.

I have some babelube and I liked it well enough, but I don't think it's enough if you're going for some rough play. Interpret that as you will.

Okay. Reviving this thread for a potentially embarrassing question. I've never bought a toy before, but I've been volunteering near a really good shop, so I went in and looked around. The two I'm interested in are the LELO Ina and the LELO Gigi. I considered a rabbit, but they are so huge. I'm unsure which to get, and I was wondering if anyone thought one would be better for a first buy than the other.

Do you know whether internal stimulation alone works for you? I have the latter, but it doesn't do anything for me used in the "intended" manner without a second external vibe. You can, of course, use it externally, but this thing is more pricey than, say, a magic wand (which is also mains powered and thus stronger).

I wouldn't know for sure what would work for me. I've never had sex and this would be my first buy. I can't buy the magic wand because I still live at home, and will live in a dorm next year, so I need something very discreet. I suppose I should just take the plunge and buy the Ina.

I have the Lelo Mona and I love it. I was looking at the Ina too, but am glad I decided against it. I feel like the clit attachment ends up limiting what you can do it, and means you are kind of always doing the same thing with it. I use the Mona for both internal and external stimulation with great success (heh).

Maybe buy the mona and a bullet just in case?

Yep, if you have two separate gadgets you don't have to worry about the fixed external bit not being in the right spot for you.

I love my Lelo Gigi! I use it both ways, but definitely mostly externally. If I'm stroganoffing, I'm usually in the mood for something intense, and clit play is a better payoff for me.

I've had a rabbit style toy in the past, but I usually was more interested in the external stimulation. I say go for the Gigi or Mona. They're more versatile than the Ina, especially for your first toy.

Aloe Cadabra lube is all-natural, should anyone here have green leanings. Go for the unscented kind; I bought the Tahitian Vanilla. It's not a bad smell, but it's no turn-on, either.

What was the name of the Dollar Tree lube... Personal Touch? It's slick, 'warms on contact,' and costs a dollar.

Bumping this up just to announce that on Friday I finally went into a sex shop, all by myself! Ahhh, it took me almost 15 years, but now I feel accomplished. All thanks to the BBC that ran an article about the founder of Germany's biggest sex shop chain: first, I didn't know it was a woman's creation, then, I discovered she was a fighter pilot in the war and set up her shop in the '50s as a catalogue service, which helped women to shop there and become more liberated. So, in her honour, I did it.

I bought the Leaf Vitality, it's so freaking cute! I must say so far I'm very satisfied with my choice.
I also bought a pair of loveballs, and I am not sure about them: they are large enough that I don't have to work to keep them in, and I must really be bouncing around to feel anything. Am I doing it wrong?

Anek- I have kegel weights from fun factory, which are large enough that they stay put on their own. I can get a good "workout" doing kegels with them in, though. I can feel the inner balls moving around when I move abruptly or ride my bike. The subtlety actually makes them more pleasant to wear for long periods of time (like at work).
