I wish Zoya was cheaper here - I think there's only one place that sells it (The Department Store/Lucy and the Powder Room, in case any NZers care), and from memory it was over $20 and they only have like, 20 colours. They also have Butter, but also $$$$.

I got my zoyas in the mail yesterday. The colors look great--really bold. I have robyn (a bright blue) on now and I'm loving it! Best application ever, I am a zoya convert. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to go back to my cheapy polishes.

Oooh I'll have Robyn on Friday! At first, that was one of the only colors that I really wanted, but then of course I found some more (I did not end up buying Harley... I might get a spoon to see if it's something I'll actually wear)

Inspired by the purple part of my gradient, I decided yesterday to replicate that part only. For added oomph, I added a hot pink foil to the mix as well. This one has so much shine, color and many types of glitter, so it was hard to capture. You can see that where my hand is elevated, there is hot pink glitter and lower down, it appears purple. This one is sort of a duochrome, but if you look at it head on in low light, you can see BOTH the purple and pink sitting on the nail. It kind of looks like magenta with many ribbons of purple and hot pink. Although in some light, you might mainly see the hot pink flash and sometimes it just appears purple. The bottom line is that this is packed with color and it always looks different.


Here's a macro of how the polish actually sits on the nail

This is composed of four sheer polishes:
Base color is one coat of Zoya's Roxy, which is a red-based purple jelly with matching glitter.
Next there is one coat of OPI's Let Me Entertain You, which is a hot pink foil.
Then there are two coats of Nubar's Violet Sparkle, which is violet colored micro-glitter.
Next is Nubar's Sugar, which is a sheer hot pink jelly with sparse small and large holographic glitter.

Oh and I think I will be using each of these posts as blog posts(which means improved pics, which I've already started. I have a really good one for this manicure). I've thought of a name for the blog, but I think it might be too long of a name. How should I advertise the blog to get people to read it?
There is one layer of top coat, but I probably could have used an extra layer.

I always put a coat of clear on first, with color over it, topped by glitter, and I've never had any problems with getting the glitter off.

I'd definitely read it. Your manicures are always gorgeous have inspired me to branch out a little bit next time I do my nails.

Aww thanks! Uh oh... the forum that shall not be named. I do have the same name on there and I've always been scared that I'll be spotted. I've actually been a member there for 9 years and I met one of my good friends on there! Do you just stick to the nail board?

OPI "That's Hot! Pink"

Has anyone tried the Top Shop polishes? The Top Shop here has just started getting them and there's an amazing looking tangerine one.

Oh I like this, I'm not usually a fan of bright nail polishes but I could definitely wear this!

I just did a mani with Illamasqua Scarab (two coats) and then OPI for Sephora as a top coat. I can't stop staring at my nails - will try to get a good photo. It was dead easy too, the Scarab didn't have to be perfect since glitter was going on top.

I've got black fingernails french tipped with a turquoisey teal, they're awesome. And black toenails, because I happen to be dating somebody that likes them a LOT...

I put Zoya's Sweet on my toe and finger nails for a party on the weekend, it's such a pretty pink and a perfect shade, not too pale




I like Bastah's nails too but I can't stand glittery polish because it's a bisque to remove but this makes me want to use glittery ones!

Agreed! Have you started it yet? Go with the name you've chosen, even if it's long. And I think people will find it by googling nail polish names.
