My awesome friends pooled their resources and gave me a pot-o-gold to put towards my next piece. I finally called today and set up a consultation with an artist I've been wanting to get work from for a long time. I'm excited! It's for a 3/4 sleeve I'm going to have done on my left arm, the artist isn't that long of a wait but she only does consults once a month so I have to wait until February. It's hard to explain but I basically want a vignette done in the style of Japanese shibori and with no black outlines. It may be challenging, and she may tell me there's no way to do it, but I am going to try anyway! So, something like this but instead of a butterfly maybe some maple leaves or something:

my sis and mom have this same one, in the same place my right arm left arm, for my son I want to add some art from a book of his around this eventually-it's about a bunch of clouds, hard to explain but need some color and I'm a huge wimp and to me the arm doesn't hurt. Will use the same artist as the other arm. I also have a very distorted butterfly on my hip that is jacked up from my pregnancies.

Erika Soyf*cker wrote: Advice I took from the old PPK boards was to scrub/slough with soap and a loofah or pumice in the shower, then immediately moisturize with coconut oil. That helps a lot! I also found that it does better in certain climates. When I was on vacation in the Nevada/Utah desert it disappeared almost completely, but sunning even in moister climates helps manage it too. For me it's mostly allergy/food-related. It was really bad when I was younger and cleared up immediately when I got off the dairy. In recent years it had come back and I made the connection to soy a few months ago. I also had an aesthetician tell me that she kept hers under control by waxing her upper arms.
Hope some of that helps you! KP sucks an asparagus! thanks for this! mine expanded when i got pregnant - argh! it used to be only upper arms, but it expanded to lower arms and parts of my chest - so annoying. talk about taking up tattoo real estate.

Pre full sleeve: Baphomet eating garbage (halfway through full sleeve): Zombie rooster shooting laser beams out of its eyes (finished full sleeve): Close-up of rooster being cleaned by a French bulldog: Blinky! Please note that my feet aren't normally this puffy. The tattoos were fresh. Hooter on hooters in progress:

My almost done back piece: It goes all the way down to the rear, but I don't have a decent pic of the whole piece yet.

The Russian artist Vania Zouravliov. I am madly in love with his work! The tattoo is a combination of 2 of his art pieces and we built in bits and pieces of his other work (like the pomegranate, agapanthus etc.).

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'm seriously contemplating getting a tattoo very soon. Is all tattoo ink vegan friendly, or do I need to watch for this when deciding where to have my tattoo done? I really know nothing of these things!

You can call the tattoo shop of your choice and ask. If they don't know just ask for the brands of ink that they use and Google it.

I know its a crappy picture and a fairly boring tattoo, but my friend drew this pawprint and I got it tattooed in memory of my kitty cat who sadly went missing last easter. I'm seriously considering getting the chemical diagram for serotonin tattooed on me to symbolize my struggle with depression. I love the hylian bird and wanted a huge one on my hip, but at the moment I don't have the guts. I'm gonna see if I still want it in a year or so. I keep putting it on with this funny henna stuff at the moment. One of the tattoo shops I rang thought I was prank calling and swore at me and hung up for asking about what inks they use and if they're vegan. Another turned out to be completely vegan, just a town away from me! =]
