Do any of you have Adbuster's Blackspot shoes? I need some new shoes soon and was thinking of getting these, but the cost and shipping are high enough that I want to be as sure as I can that I'll like them before I buy them. If you do own them, how's the fit? How have they done over time in terms of wear and tear? Bonus points if you have pictures so I can see how cool they look on you.

Don't own a pair personally but know folk who have. General consensus is that they suck - poor durability & extremely uncomfortable.

I had some and thought the fit was fine. The ones I got were kinda designed to look dirty though and I realized not long after I bought them that that made me feel do self conscious that I didn't like wearing them. Eventually I think my husband resold them on eBay but I forget.

I sold my pair on ebay and got back what I paid for them. I think yours are still kicking around somewhere, unless they went to goodwill.
It's a nice concept, but they sucked.
I used to buy No Sweat shoes, which were basically another Chuck Taylor clone but were better quality (and which didn't cost any 75 bucks a pair!), but they seem to have stopped making them.

This is exactly the kind of feedback I wanted to hear before I went and spent so much on them. Too bad, I really love the idea of the shoes.

I have those, they took a little longer than my usual Vans style sneakers to break in but they've stood up well to lots of walking...I've had them for about 2 years now & they look battered but they're holding up fine & they're comfy.

I was just looking at these this morning as a possible alternative! Jojo, how's the fit/sizing?

I like Macbeth, they have a vegan line. I can't speak for the fit/sizing of the ladies' shoes, but the ones I own are very comfortable and have held up for well over a year now. I walk a lot, too.

Yeah, I've had a couple of Macbeth vegan shoes and they're quite comfortable and seemed decent. I'm usually happy if I get a year out of a pair of shoes, and they certainly survived that long.

Ethletic shoes are Converse copies i.e. both terrible for walking IMO. Macbeth are slightly better but still not great to be honest (e.g. they have insoles, but the insoles wear down pretty quick to the point of offering zero cushioning).
If you're happy buying something made in Asia (like Macbeth) then you might as well get something decent that won't make your feet cry like Tigers, New Balance, Nike.

That said, I never have very many pairs of shoes, so it's not as though there's ever much rotation going on. These days I live in boots (the vegetarian shoes steel cap para ones), because the soles don't wear through nearly as quickly.
