Anyone down for a weekend of camping and eating somewhere in the Pacific Northwest?

Yes! I will have to check my race schedule tonight but off the top of my head I know that the last weekend in July is open.

I lie. I have a run that last weekend of July. It's just a "fun run" so it could be skipped I guess. The first two weekends in August are a definite possibility though.

It is the future! We should be able to teleport by now so we can all go to both Veganstocks!

I'm interested!! I even have my own tent now! It would depend in where the camping happens and if it is a weekend with something planned already.

August or even September would be swell for me! Can we do it in Washington so it's kind of central? I don't think I can make it down to PDX if I only have a few days off.

I could be down for this, depending, of course, on timing, location, etc. But it sounds fun!

Yes, let's plan! What weekends work for interested parties? I'm pretty much limited to the first two weekends in August, last weekend in July is a possibility if that's what everyone else can do.

I want to go! But if Effie's still alive I can't. And obviously I'm hoping for her to be alive. So um I'm a maybe who feels weird talking about this but it sounds fun.

I would love to come meet some of you and eat delicious food if the timing worked out! I'm in Northern ID, so WA would be good for me, as well.

Does anyone have any large campground suggestions? Are people thinking of coming up from California? I was thinking the location should be somewhat central, so Oregon or Washington. I don't know this area well enough to suggest places. I hold out hope of going to the east coast shindig, so the second week end of August would be slightly better for me.

The first weekend of August I'll be busy with last minute volunteer coordinating for the music festival that I coordinate volunteers for. Then the second weekend in August I'll be at the music festival! So unless it ends up being after the second weekend in August I'm out. Shameless plug: The festival is pretty rad, so if anyone wants to come to that (if you guys don't choose that weekend) you get in for free if you volunteer for two shifts and you can camp there. I've gone to it for the last three years and it is lots of fun. Info here. And you're guaranteed good volunteer shifts since I'm the volunteer coordinator! I should have suggestions for a place since I live in Washington but the only places I ever camp are on Lopez or San Juan Island and that would be a pain for folks to get to (expensive ferries, long wait times, etc....). There is a campground at Larrabee State Park but I'm not sure if there is a large campground and it is pretty far north in WA. Oh, I've also camped at Fort Worden in Port Townsend but PT isn't that great for vegan eating. You can search for WA state parks by location (map) here or by feature (e.g., group camp) here

I don't know where to suggest but I hope we can plan the shiitake out of this so I can come with plenty of warning since I work in a tourism-fuelled industry and need to plan in advance for summer outings. Anyone? I'd be stoked to meet up at KJ's music fest!

I think I could pretty much do whenever. Here's a Washington state parks map/list thing: http://www.parks.wa.gov/parks/They operate on a reservation system and it seems like popular stuff fills up by like February, but I'm sure we can find something! If we come up with some contenders, I'm happy to search for spots and make the reservations. We typically camp at Fort Flagler (near Port Townsend) or Cape Disappointment or Grayland (coast), which are all great campgrounds but not really near any good vegan restaurants or anything, if that's a consideration. We always just cook at the camp and hang out mostly in the park. I would be up for Oregon, too. It definitely doesn't have to be Washington. Oh! And I have access to a spare 6-person tent if anyone wants to borrow it.

A brief scan of that link shows me that Wallace Falls looks very nice!
I'm not opposed to going down to Oregon either. I'm just limited to how many days I can take off, especially on a weekend. But I'll just try to make it to whatever we come up with!

Yeah, Wallace Falls looks gorgeous! And it looks like that's a first come first serve campground (no reservations), so we'd potentially have a good shot even on a summer weekend as long as someone could get there early. Reservations do kind of give me peace of mind, though. What if people come all that way and it's full? That would suck.
