Hi Dutch folk,

Following this topic: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=20343:

Let's have a meetup on Saturday the 8th of September in Utrecht! Shall we bring life to Soy? Or hang out at some other place?

Discuss!

- Bun

I've been to Sunshine, the Ethiopian place, that could be cool too! We would need to ask ahead about the vegan-ness of their dishes, though. I went and thought they were after asking, but suspected some butter here and there.

There's also a Vietnamese place with veg options, according to Happycow. http://www.happycow.net/europe/netherlands/utrecht/

I've never been to Soy, though. I would like to go there! I don't really mind ;)

I usually work Saturdays, but this far in advance, I may be able to arrange to switch with someone. I'd love to try Soy but Ethiopian sound great too.

Speaking of Ethiopian ..... there's a great place in Amsterdam, co-owned by a vegan dude!

I'll try to come. Don't know anything about veganism in Utrecht, so I'd love to learn.

I'm going to go ahead and admit it... I've never had Ethiopian food.

Ooh, well maybe we should do dinner on Wednesday at the Ethiopian place lutin mentioned! (I know, I'm mixing my threads.) Hey, lutin, where is that place?

When I was there in September, the dude who owns (or runs) it said he was vegan when I mentioned I was, and made such a gorgeous plate of food. It's one of my wall pics if you're friends with me on fb.

I've been there! It's really yummy. I'm obsessed with Ethiopian food and try to eat at every restaurant I find. This was the first one I ate at in The Netherlands and it didn't disappoint.

yessssss. I was ordered to go there from someone overseas, and have since heard of other people from overseas that have been there (and loved it!) - it seems everyone knows about this place, haha.

Stop it, Josh. Stop pretending everything is just fine between us, especially after sending me that horribly cold message. Just stop this, stop asking my friends out for lunch, stop being all nicy-nice, stop trying to invade my space when YOU said you are no longer a part of my life. PPK, world: we are not friends. /end dramz.

So, Ethiopian! I'm down, though I would love to visit Utrecht again. I've only been once and I really liked it. My partner and I have plans to visit on a weekend one of these days, but things have been way too busy to go. I don't get out much, so Amsterdam or Utrecht is fine with me. But I will go anywhere there's Ethiopian.

Also, there's an awesome local yarn shop I visited while in Utrecht with a super nice lady. Made me wish it was in Breda.

Also, is muffinpants aware of this thread? Can he/she (I'm not sure!) attend if it's not in Utrecht?

Yeah, she was really helpful and kind. And her shop was in the middle of what seemed like a cool part of Utrecht. Lots of cute shops and cafes.

WOAH! I can't believe I saw this thread in time *and* I'm back from my short holiday on the 8th as well! I do have something else planned though, but I think I'll be able to postpone that. So for now, count me in! I'm not often on the forum so please draw my attention if there are any major changes. ;)
