She is 12! (Well, we are guessing. When we adopted her, the vet estimated her age and put her birthday down as June 1, 2000.)
It was a very exciting day. She got to have pasta for dinner (her favorite), and then we had a party with a cake.
Peas and peanut butter cake. Sable LOVES peas.
"This looks pretty good..."
"Okay, human, cut the cake and put it on these plates, please."
Sable was nice enough to invite Basko to her party.
Nom nom nom...
She gets to wear the special "Birthday Girl" bandanna today.
Basko decided to help himself to seconds.
After the cake, we went for a birthday walk, and then Sable got her present. I tried to take a picture of her playing tug with her new toy, but this was the best I could get. Let's just call it "artistic".
Sable seemed to enjoy her special day today. I can't believe she was only a year and a half old when I adopted her! If you want to watch an absolutely thrilling video of Sable eating her birthday cake (and Basko trying to steal said cake), here you go:
This belongs in the Best Thing About Your Day thread for me. It's the best! Happy birthday, sweet girl!

Thanks! Sable had a very exciting day after her birthday today! A local pet supply store was having an open house, so we went and Sable met tons of other doggies and people. The store owners know she's vegan, so they were telling people, "This is Sable. Sable's a vegan!" and people were curious (in a nice way) about Sable's veganism.
While we were shopping in the store, we found some new soft treats that appear to be vegan: http://www.cloudstar.com/prodcat/wag-more-bark-less-soft-and-chewy.asp (the peanut butter cookie and pumpkin pie flavors). If you're looking for some soft training treats, you might want to check them out!

I just bought the pumpkin flavor for our pup and he loves them!
